Anyone using it, how does the sizing compare with the UMFF. CPAP.com does not have the Quattro in their sizing chart yet. Size listings are a bit difference.

I am new to cpap (actually a resmed vpap) and own the Quattro.

I am still trying to get used to sleeping with an object on my face, and havent made through a whole night.

But I can say that the mask fits very well around my nose and mouth and there do not appear any leaks.

A word of warning, DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT TAKING APART YOUR MASK FOR CLEANING. After removing the elbow, it does not fit as well as it did when it was new, and now it slightly leaks.

I got my medium sized Quattro FF about two weeks ago, It is very comfortable and I have not experienced any problems with it. Leak rates are good (I am at 16cm's) almost a straight line on the Encore printout. I am a little disapointed in my AHI'S which are running around 4.8 the best nights AHI was around 3.0, but my AHI'S were not that great either with my UMFF so i'm happy overall with the Quattro.

Up on 2 weeks on mine and the normal adjustments & New Mask Syndrome seems to be behind me.

Observations:

Elbow leaks. Used plumbers tape aka teflon tape on the connections: Leak eliminated & it's very quiet.

I have to tighten it pretty tightly to my face to eliminate leakage at the cheekbone but it's still comfortable and I'm leak free.

Waking with mild to moderate dry eye. Not sure where it's from as I'm unable to ID any leaks in that area. Suspect it's blow-back from the vents - possibly hitting the pillow and diverting back at me as I'm a side sleeper.

I prefer it to my prior FF mask which was an F&P 431.

Seems like a very good mix of comfort and seal. I recommend it.

Well, I also developed "leaky elbow" and teflon tape fixed it right up. They need to incorporate some kind of seal or O ring for that elbow.

Mine has a tendency to blow into my eyes. I will often go to sleep with no leaks, and wake up with it blowing full-force into my eyes, which are usually puffy & sticky in the AM.

The Force? Duct Tape is the Force. It has a light side & a dark side & holds the whole damn univers together!

I've forund the same thing with the skirt -- cleanliness is next to godliness. A problem I have is heavy beard growth by bedtime -- and I'm not about to start shaving 2X a day.

I found out I had a heavy beard growth issue too a while back ... I quit shaving when I realized it was a losing battle.

If you are not a hair kind'a guy there is always the "force" ... duct tape will take care of those pesky insurgent hairs X times a day ... ouch!

Me too!! I thought I was leaking at first but finally realized no...I think it's exactly what you said 'blow back' from the vent on the front. I just called the only distributor of the PAPillow in CT to get one...I hope that solves the problem and helps with the awful marks on my face! (I don't over-tighten but because I'm sleeping on my side it digs in on that side only...looks lovely in the morning!)

I have been using the Quattro for 4 weeks now and find it an excellent mask. Highly recommend.
I am a side sleeper with a goatee beard and find no leaks, AHI down compared to the Ultra Mirage FFM I used before, which I could not adjust at all to eliminate leaks.
I had to do the "Plumber's Tape" fix on the swivel to fix that leak problem, it is a pity that ResMed obviously did not trial the mask properly to alert them to this problem.

Thanks all you folks who have commented on both the Liberty & Quattro, I had planned to buy one of each but held back on the early reports.

It seems they do have an issue with the elbow joint & am tempted to phone Resmed & see if I can speak to someone there about that problem (I just joined their Resmed Care program).

In the meantime will stick with my UMFF.

On the subject of UMFF, last weekend - totally dismantled the UMff & wife soaked it in diluted bleach for 1/2 day. Then I rinsed all the bits (repeatedly ) & reassembled.

Seems like a new mask. Wife suggests not to do it too often but it did seem to turn it into a new mask again.

I've had the Quattro for about a month now and love it. The elbow leaked at first. I work for a Doctors office and grabbed a couple of disposable gloves. I cut the tip off of a finger then cut about 1/2 inch off making a tube. I fit it over the elbow and reinserted it and it works great. It's very thin and makes a great seal. It is a little harder to turn but is quieter then ever with no air loss anywhere that I can find.

I'm new to CPAP therapy and used the older FF during my month trial. Went to purchase it and was told the best choice is the new Ultra Mirage II FFM so bought it. Got it home first night of use and it was hissing like a snake....so much so I couldn't get to sleep. Slept the night without CPAP and took it back the next day. They tried it on me and changed to another elbow and it still leaked. It's been 3 weeks now since returning it. They rang me last week to tell me it is a design fault and they are working on it at the moment....don't know how long it's gonna take but they've given me the older FFM which I trialled in the mean time. Good service but a little annoyed at paying top dollar for a mask that leaks.

Have had my ResMed Quattro for about 8 days now. When I was investigating different masks the Liberty was great and the Quattro was my second choice. I took the Quattro at this time because the insurance companies still have not come up with a billing code for the Liberty. The jury is still out for me as to how effective it is. I still have been experiencing leaks but less than my old FFM. Still have to tighten it down quite a bit. Have an appointment next week with the doctor and will discuss it further with her.
