Encore Pro v1.8
Non Doctor/DME software -- no benifits
They're not going to give us any support if the software doesn't work... They're not going to help us with "Free" upgrades if the product no longer works... They just say upgrade to the newest one...
So why are we having to pay the same price as the doctors and DME's when we don't get any of the benefits that are supposed to go with the software???
some what frustrated...

I am bummed! No detail data for last night. I bought V1.8 because I thought the missing data problem was fixed. I download my data daily. Is it because I am not erasing the card? Or will I also have missing data if I erase every day?

LOL Jeff,
I just posted the Saturday night missing data in another topic. It must be all the partying.

SET UP A POLL!!
I'd like to get every one's input that has a M series CPAP/APAP and find out how common the data loss issue is?
if it is a software bug then it should efect every one.
If it's a hardware problem we could be looking at a bad batch of memory or some thing similer that's effecting a batch of mashines?
What does every one think about this?
Thanks
Gryphon

Gryphon,
It does not happen all the time.
Many Saturday night data is missing.
Other times, instead of getting a maximum of 12 pages of detailed summary data , there is less. And for some reason it is not the oldest but the newest data that is missing.
Hope this info helps you figure out what the problem is.

We had a poll a while ago...
Basically it seems to take about a month to show up. It's only a couple days missing, it's not the end of the world, and then everything's back to normal. I hope they fixed it with 1.8, but we'll see. I'll let you know in about a month.

Blarg
Mine is not even 1 moth
Started to use my CPAP as of March 27
Then about a week ago I visited my DME to read my reports
The clinicians wiiped out my smart card
I have data only form April 14 to April 19, the April 20 data is all zeros except humifier and Cflex setting
My Ecnore Pro is 1.8
It seems that it does not matter whether data are erased or not erased

If this misising data happened too often, the overall stats will be too good to be true
Let us say yr actual might be AHI=10 but there 10 missing data per month and your avg AHI = 5
so this will might screw up the patient treatment and is not this a dangerous bug?
Since Respironics is so serious about this software and taking it off from the end-users - is not this bug very scary?
On one hand they do not trust us to be able to use these stats properly for our own good - and at the same time they let this severe bug present to skew the data that doctors and clinicians depend to treat us....
Is FDA aware of this bug?

If you can tell me what DME or sleep doctor actually LOOKS at the data, then you may have a point. I don't know of any though.cpapernewbie wrote:so this will might screw up the patient treatment and is not this a dangerous bug?
This is how rumors start. If they were serious about taking it off the market, it would already be.cpapernewbie wrote:Since Respironics is so serious about this software and taking it off from the end-users...
I don't recall them saying that. You seem to be assuming that's their motivation, but again, calm down.cpapernewbie wrote:On one hand they do not trust us to be able to use these stats properly for our own good
Severe is a bit of an overstatement, but again, to each his/her own.cpapernewbie wrote:and at the same time they let this severe bug present to skew the data that doctors and clinicians depend to treat us....
Feel free to let them know. I doubt they'll care, but enjoy....cpapernewbie wrote:Is FDA aware of this bug?

Leonard, I do not know what will help the problem.

Alisha, I think that is an idea.
Whoever has purchased a copy and si having problems, should contact the DME they got it from.

Sleepy-eyes wrote:Okay, as I mentioned, I contacted Respironics again with a request they do something about this problem. Here was their answer:
That problem is a known bug in Encore Pro v1.6. Sadly, we do not have a patch to correct the 1.6 version, we just have our customers upgrade to v1.8. We provide these upgrades free of charge to customers that already have earlier versions of Encore Pro. I would hope that the company you purchased the software from would follow this same practice.
So anyone who actually purchased it from Respironics needs to get in touch with them. All others will have to purchase.
Alisha wrote:
If Respironics won't replace the defective software 1.6 with the 1.8 (which they say does not skip days of Daily Data) because we are not suppliers, COULD WE NOT ALL AS A GROUP ASK JOHNNY AT CPAP.COM (WHO IS A SUPPLIER) TO SEE IF RESPIRONICS WOULD REPLACE THEM FOR HIM? If we had to return the 1.6 to Johnny for the replacement, I would be willing.
Respironics replaced the faulty tanks for the M, why should they not replace the faulty software? I love the M Auto Cpap. I just wish they had ironed out the wrinkles before they put it on the market.
What do you software 1.6 users think?
Regards,
Alisha

The version of SQL that you need is included on the Encore Pro installation CD and is part of the installation.NewtoMe wrote:Hi folks, here's a question:
does Encore Pro S/W need to have a copy of SQL to work or will it work on its own? i.e., if one is using to track a single user, I'm hoping I don't have to go out and buy and install SQL.
thanks
