Its a topic that clinicians don't like to to talk about publicly, but it is becoming an increasingly important issue in the whole field of public health.

Talk to your legislators (regional and national) about it and make sure they know how you feel about it!

Cheers,

Bill

I'm also a new user.

Actually my Cardiologist sent me to the sleep Dr. because he suspected my problem. However I think the sleep Dr diagnosed me before I walked through the door. The sleep studies were just for conversation and insurance documentation. When getting the equipment neither discussed any options including software with me.

In any event, I wasn't sleeping throughout he night. Now, on therapy, I'm doing better, although I'm still not sleeping completely through the night. I'm suspecting it's the way the machine is set up. Its a bilevel machine that start out at a low setting and ramps to a higher setting (4 hrs later). I've been going to sleep about 11:30 and I wake up at about 4:30. Perhaps it is set too high.

Anybody with comments about this are greatly appreciated.

Hi Gary,

I'd recommend checking your machine settings. You should easily be able access the clinical menus on your machine. Hopefully, someone will be along who will share how to do that with you. Once you know your machine settings, then folks here will be in a much better position to offer advice.

I will also say that your ramp shouldn't be 4 hours. If it is, then a mistake has been made and your machine is likely in split-night mode. Every now and again, somebody comes along with a machine set up in split-night mode, and yes it would account for you waking up four hours later when the pressure suddenly increases.

If no one else comes along here to answer your questions then you might want to start a new thread. You'll likely get a bigger audience that way.

Hope this helps a little.

Regards,
Bill
