Where did you get the understanding that "the pressure is low enough for me to stop"?
That is really a question you should put to your doctor who (hopefully) will give a answer that is tailored to your specific medical status.

As others have pointed out, sometimes the impact of not using your cpap can be observed immediately (such as morning headaches - likely resulting from oxygen desaturation). Lacking that concrete feedback, what changes may occur by discontinuing maybe more subtle and possibly inconsequential.

As a beginning point, you may want to obtain your original sleep study to compare your untreated AHI versus your treated AHI.

If you think you need a new sleep study (to decide to continue therapy or not) you are going to have to discuss it with your Dr.

Caveats do apply to review papers/meta studies. N here is only 13. The authors get to pick and choose the studies they emphasize. The Ns in the studies reviewed were also small.

I don't think OP considering stopping CPAP is a good idea.

So the paper is an additional data point to consider if the OP wants to retest.

With the possibility of a washout effect giving a false thumbs-up to stoppage, OP needed an heads-up.

CPAP treats Sleep Apnea. It does not cure it!

It simply holds the airway open with pressure so that it will not collapse.

When not present, the original condition remains unchanged!

My AHI in my sleep study was 23 point something, and with a steady EPAP of 5 my AHI is almost always under 1. The fact that someone’s apnea can be treated with a low pressure doesn’t mean they can go without CPAP.

As others have said, to tell whether you still need a machine, you’d need a new sleep study.
