Apnic episodes with chest pounding

Post by Kewilso1 » Thu Apr 08, 2021 6:29 pm

I have rem sleep osa. I wake up with all episodes with chest pounding. I use apap pressures 12-20. My seal is good with a nasal pillow but I still have episodes.

A little info please, like... have you tried different (possibly lower min.) pressures?
Which apap are you using? Mask? Take any meds?

Can you post a couple of Oscar charts in this thread so we can see what's happening?

How do you know you have REM osa?

welcome to the zoo!

apnic as far as i can see is another term for apnea. so you're in the right place.

please give us some more info. not everyone has the same machine or mask. so it would be helpful if you can supply us with that information. it would be great if the machine you have is compatible with the sleep apnea software, oscar.

how did it come about that your pressure settings are 12 and 20? again, specific settings are generally used in each individual case.

let us know more so that we can help.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

So you have an APAP, which is good. Can you use Oscar and get the data from it? It would be useful to try and determine if your apnea is obstructive or central in nature. That will likely directly impact the guidance.
