Dreamstation 2

Post by dreamingofdreaming » Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:50 pm

I received an email from CPAP.com that they are taking pre orders for the Dreamstation 2. I can see this on their website, but not a lot of info.

thank you for that.

just took a quick look at the first link. i do like the design. and the fact that it's being made smaller.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Ordered it. I wonder if you access the clinical menu the same way as the touchscreen on the portable one. I see the menus are different but there is only one button. We will see.

Does it even have a clinical menu? I don't see an LCD screen. It looks like it's all done through the app.

Thanks. I don't do youtube or Instagram, or Whatsapp. Instead I went and pulled the spec sheet.

This machine appears to be quite loud at 35 dB and there's no information on how heavy it is with all the accessories. They are dodging this by advertising it's 16% lighter but not saying if that measurement includes the [included] power supply. It also seems to have proprietary tubing 💲.

I looked at the videos and anything else I could find, and I could find no mention of an SD card. Looks like it is not going to be compatible with OSCAR.

Yes it has an SD card. It’s behind the humidification chamber.

SD slot. May or may not come with SD card.

There is a user manual pdf available for download.
Give it a bit of time and there will be a provider/clinical manual as well.

Just got it in. First Impressions and info.

The Dreamstation 2 is much smaller than the original. It will be a great travel cpap machine in my opinion. I like the touch screen interface and menus on the new unit. There is no SD card pre installed but I had one laying around, format it in fat32 and the machine will write data. I noticed under the provider menu that Patient Controls and Patient Data were disabled so you will need to enable them if you want. Also you can adjust your minimum pressure under provider or use the ramp feature. I think the water chamber is probably the most controversial part of this machine, it’s easy to remove and clean just know there are a lot of crevices where bacteria could form compared to the first one. Also water will get caught in the black lid when cleaning where you press down to release the water chamber, just air dry it good. I’m not too concerned about the chamber because these are parts you should replace regularly anyway. You can use the 15mm Dreamstation One heated tube with unit but I’m looking forward to trying the 12mm heated tube when available for purchase. The unit came with a regular 15mm tube. Looking forward to trying it tonight.
