Oscar Question
Oscar Question
I used a DreamStation for a couple of weeks and sd card worked great. Now have Airsense 10 for Her and nothing works. Do I need to delete the app and reinstall? Kinda lost here. Please help.

Re: Oscar Question
It should work with the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her machine. I have that model machine and OSCAR works fine with that machine in terms of giving me data and working like it should.
Did you have the SD card in the machine all night or was it out of the machine during the night?
What kind of problem are you having? More details please. What do you mean "nothing works"?
You shouldn't need to do install again or do anything to OSCAR.

Re: Oscar Question
I bought an sd card and put into my machine two nights ago. When I open Oscar and try to import data, the program will not respond.

Re: Oscar Question
Consider creating a new profile and import under the new profile.

Re: Oscar Question
Could you say more about what you mean when you say "the program will not respond." Does it even find the SD card and offer to import it?
If not, what is the capacity of your SD card and did you format it? Is the lock side switch set to unlocked? If you look at the SD card with Windows Explorer (or equivalent if using the Mac), do you see a file named STR.EDF and a folder named DATALOG? If you don't see those, then it is something about the card. I think your SD card needs to be formatted as FAT32.

Re: Oscar Question
I call Oscar a program. I guess I need to format the sd card. Do we have instructions on how to do this? Thank you for all the help. Sorry, I’m not very computer literate. I did make another profile, but it still will not read the card or import the information.

Re: Oscar Question
The machine will usually take care of formatting the SD card for you. I have never had to do a special format of any SD card I have bought and put in any machine.
First thing you need to do is check to see if the slot on your computer where the SD card is sitting in....even works.
If your computer can't see the SD card then OSCAR won't be able to see it.
Normally OSCAR will search for the card (after you click on the download/import button) and find it and then prompt you to download from whatever directory the SD card is in.
It wouldn't be impossible for the SD card drive slot to be bad....do you know how to look for the drive letter that your SD card slot is associated with and then look to see if you see the SD card and the contents?
What operating system is on your computer.

Re: Oscar Question
fwiw, I saw a report of someone who tried to use an SD card with more than 32 GB capacity, and the CPAP machine didn't format it and the format on the card wasn't recognized by the machine. Problem description sounded similar to Pauses' report (which doesn't mean it is the same problem of course).

Thanks for mentioning it might be related to card size. I have never used anything larger than 16 GB. I will try to remember that part...no guarantees since my memory sucks sometimes...

First thing I would do though is make sure the SD card slot drive is working or not. That problem has happened a lot...dead drive and people don't realize it until they put a card in it.

Re: Oscar Question
It is a 32GB SD card. The slot is working because it worked with the DreamStation and shows up on the computer. I have added a new profile and deleted and reinstalled the program. It still will not acknowledge or import any thing.

Re: Oscar Question
You can try reformatting the card to the FAT 32 format and then use the card in the machine over night and try again to import.
You could also try SleepyHead original version and see how it might handle the card.
https://sleepyhead.jedimark.net/
You can still download and install it and it still works...it's just not being supported or updated anymore.
So don't panic when you see the "shut down" words. The download links are still active.
I know people using 32 GB cards without issue with both SleepyHead and OSCAR. Heck, I know one person using a 64 GB card without a problem.

Re: Oscar Question
Try getting a different card. You might have a defective card.
Re: Oscar Question
I found a 16GB SD card. I’m going to try it tonight. Maybe my card was bad. Time will tell. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

When I tried to put my card in my machine, it told me to unlock it. So, I did.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 4:53 pmCould you say more about what you mean when you say "the program will not respond." Does it even find the SD card and offer to import it?

On the OSCAR site, it said to make sure it is locked. I guess for it to get the info from it? Not sure.

Re: Oscar Question
The lock warning is mainly for users of the ResMed S9 model machines.
Some operating systems (some Macs and Windows 8.0 and higher) put a little text file on the SD card when you insert the card in the computer. It doesn't really hurt anything except the S9 model machines don't like the SD card if that text file is on the SD card and if you stick the SD card back into the S9 with that text file on it the machine will reject it and tell you it's an invalid card.
Respironics machines have never cared about that text file and now the ResMed AirSense/Air Curve machines don't care either.
Only S9 users need to worry about locking the SD card.
It has nothing to do with the software like OSCAR or SleepyHead doing anything.
I never lock my SD card now. I did when I was using a S9 though.
