I was a smoker for 22 years until I saw that report. I quit that same day. I also Vaped when I was home because I didn't want to smoke around the house. I'm vaping more now because I quit cigarettes.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:30 pmMy money is on apnea being the cause of panic and anxiety disorder. Treatment can make a whale of an improvement.
I would concentrate on "minimal". That should be good news. Are you currently exposed to anything that would make the condition worse?

That's weird about your vision. I haven't heard of that.the baker wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 7:10 amInteresting list of symptoms.. I have lots of those

Re: Newbie questions
The doctors cannot find anything wrong with my eyes, and I've read about lack of sleep and vision ( there is not much) but it makes sense, when we are tired our eyes bother us just imagine when you don't sleep properly. It must take it's toll on almost every system of the body..Eblo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:49 amThat's weird about your vision. Re: Newbie questions
I mentioned sleep apnea to the eye doctor one time. He said, "Every cell in the body needs oxygen. So sleep apnea could damage the eyes or anything else."
Re: Newbie questions
I am going to try. Just very stressed right now with everything going on. I see the pulmonologist tomorrow to go over my CT and see why I have been getting short of breath. It's so hard to know when it's mental or not. Even with dealing with anxiety and panic for over 20 years you still can't tell.

Re: Newbie questions
Now, you haven't been tested yet. But, if you have sleep apnea, it's often that the physical comes first and eventually causes the mental. It's from all the damage oxygen desaturation and sleep deprivation is causing. Think about why sleep deprivation is forbidden by the Geneva Convention. Sleep deprivation has been used to mentally break POWs.
If you have sleep apnea and treat it, there is a different future for you.
Re: Newbie questions
Had my appointment with the pulmonologist today. Spirometry test was normal but he wants me to do additional tests just in case. I have a sleep apnea consult in two weeks.

Re: Newbie questions
I would wake up after an hour or two in a panic gasping and / or screaming because my air supply was being cut down severely or cut off. That stopped once my airway was kept open with the CPAP machine.

Re: Newbie questions
Not too anxious about it. Unfortunately I'm not too flexible with my work schedule. I have lots of other Dr appointments coming up too so I have to try to get as many in one day as I can lol. I'm working on an online home sleep study too. Maybe I can get that sooner.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 1:06 pmIf you are anxious to get going and flexible in your schedule, ask them to put you on a cancellation list.
Re: Newbie questions
Have you recorded yourself during sleep yet? Or, did a partner observe snoring?

Re: Newbie questions
The loud snort is typical of the end of an apnea. Your airway has been obstructed, and the snorting noise is from your body breaking open the obstruction.
I would put money that you have obstructive sleep apnea. A home test is good for getting a diagnosis of an obvious case.
