Don't know where you read that but SleepyHead does work with the DreamStation models except ASV or the brick DSX200 CPAP that doesn't record any data to anything beyond hours of use.

What model do you have?

The model DSX500 is the Auto CPAP model and it is indeed compatible with SleepyHead.

We have people posting screen shots from that model all over here.

Now why your Mac had a problem...I have no idea but SH does work with your machine and there is data on that SD card.

Irrelevant though for the water consumption issue....it would have taken massive large leaks to eat up the water and most assuredly would have been flagged by the machine as large leak and would show up on DreamMapper as well.

I woke up this morning with no water left in the tank. DreamMapper says 0 large leaks, but SleepyHead says there were leaks.

I did get SleepyHead to work. I had to insert/eject my SD card a few times until the Mac recognized it. Probably dust in the slot since I rarely use the SD Drive.

Sleepy head stated that I head periods of significant mask leaks. Can those be when I got up to go pee and left the machine running? If you'd like me to zip up and email my data I can do that too. Just PM me.

I attached a screenshot of the SleepyHead report. If someone could take a look at it for I'd be grateful. What are vibratory snores? Are they bad?

Same here. Do you leave your machine running, as I do, when you get up to pee in the night?

I usually sleep all night and don't have to get up and disconnect. I had nasal surgery a month ago and am not able to tighten my mask as much as I need to, to prevent my mask from moving around, causing it to leak. Pugsy will be able to help you with your problem.

You Respironics users with the machine saying no leaks and SleepyHead saying there were large leaks...
Your machine trumps SH.

The problem is SleepyHead defaults to the red line for ResMed machines...and that's where that % of time over red line statistic comes from...not from your machine.

ResMed machines report leaks different...excess leak only and the red line is 24 L/min.
Respironics doesn't have a fixed red line and if they did with would be a lot higher than 24 L/min.

Change your red line threshold from the default 24 L/min to something more suitable for a Respironics machine...since it varies so much with pressures and masks used...impossible to give you an exact fixed number but something around 70 L/min would be a nice conservative number.

Go to Preferences...CPAP tab...and change the 24 red line threshold to 70 L/min or just turn it off and rely on the machine to flag any large leaks in the Events graph....see the LL line on the Events graph??? That's large leak...no flags there means no large leaks despite what SH says in the statistics column for % of time over red line.

I never ran out of water with my old Respironics machine, always had plenty left.
Fom Day 1 of using the DreamStation I am down to only a few drops of water remaining in the tank each morning.
Nothing else changed except the machine.
Can't help with a solution - but would like one. Just wanted to commiserate!

I followed my medical supply company’s recommendations to use the non-heated tube and put the machine humidifier into non-adaptive mode. I still wake up in the middle of the night with painfully dry nostrils, mouth, and throat. I am really beginning to hate my new Respironics Dreamstation. So much so, that I’m returning the entire unit to my medical supply company. How can they sell a $1000 piece of junk like this and sleep at night? The company rep. even admitted to me over the phone that they know there is a design flaw with the humidifier i.e. running out of water. So F them and F Respironics. I’m done.

For what it's worth....with my Dreamstation....I use a heated tube, set to 2 and my humidifier is set to 4. It's only run out of water once in over a year. Maybe I'm lucky? And I live in the desert in Wyoming, no humidifier in the house.

I noticed that someone said that other people are not having your problem. Please notice the thread called New Machine. I am having the same problem. I received a new machine a week ago. I never had a problem with my old Respironics machine. My setting is on a 2. On a 1, I get no moisture, and on a 3, I get about 4 hours sleep. Sorry you are having problems.

Last night I had the humidifier set at 3 and it ran dry. Plus, I have a room humidifier set to 45.

Hi. I'm new here. Just got my first cpap 2 weeks ago. I changed to a PR Dream station a week ago. I've tried the humidifier at various levels all week. I didn't change the water and didn't top it up all week. There's still water in there. I thought I had a problem because it wasn't using water.

Im guessing your problem is that it is not adapting to the environment. Surely it should not be set to be nonadaptive.

Four things determine the amount of water you use:
Relative humidity of your bedroom
Temperature of the air going through the machine
Humidity level you choose
Your treatment pressure
