Please take the exact model from the order or (once you get it) the machine itself, and put that in the profile.

Ref #37015. Not on that wiki page.

Probably a brick, but it communicates with my DME, so I dont have to send in my chip with info. Also, I can log onto their website, and enter my serial number to view all my data. Cpapotslef shows, hours selpt, mask fit, and ahi. Which, I rarely look at, but is good to know. For me anyways.

The number on the back is 37015? Does it say CPAP on the front? If so, take it back.

Why, so I can obsess over my info, will a smarter cpap, blow air better, better hunidifier. I think there is an obsession with data here. I get some people really need to examine their info because of other health problems. 99% of people use cpap oand never look at their data rigorously.

Why yes, yes it will, and it'd likely give you better sleep.

Because without data, trying to get the best sleep out of a cpap is like driving to work blindfolded. The only way you know how you're doing is by counting the screams of the people you run over.

Which is why the failure rate is over 50%.

However, you seem to be completely uninterested in improving things for yourself, so .... Bless Your Heart.

Lol, so passive aggreasive with "bless your heart." It really isnt that complcated for most cpap users. I guess you missed the point I can see all my data via website, not a "fan based" website like sleepyhead.

Ps, this site is a great resource, but quit scarying people to obsess over their data. A brick is no linger a brick. Yes, I had a brick originally.

And I'd venture to say, since we are offering opinions as facts of failure rate, people fail because they can't stand wearing the mask, using cpap. It was my problem originally, but now I won't go anywhere without it. 8)

And, that's where you're wrong.

But, believe what you want.

As far as "bless your heart", that's just southern for "up yours". Have a nice day.

I used to use Sleepyhead--until I retired. No obsession here.
Accepting the brick lets the DME rip off your insurance,
by giving you LESS than you might possibly need. --someday . . .
And what was actually PAID for.
You never know if you might need what you let them cheat you out of.
And then a better machine may be on YOUR dime.
Oh, well. Your choice . . .

Not trying to be snarky here -- you asked a simple question but first omitted your current machine and then you are uncertain about what your new machine is. Pretty hard to answer your question!

It is worth understanding the practical consequences of a compliance only non-auto CPAP.

First, auto adjusting. An auto-adjusting CPAP lets you set a pressure range and the machine will adapt (not instantly and not perfectly) to changes in need. Sometimes additional support might be needed based on congestion, medications/alcohol use, sleep position, and sleep stage. Additionally, pressure needs might go up (or, less likely, down) over the years. A fixed pressure only gives you the one pressure.

Second, full data. Any newer Respironics or ResMed machine that is full data will almost certainly also offer the ability to transmit the data to the DME and/or provider via cell or wifi. I am fairly certain the ResMed records much more data on the SD card than it transmits to providers. All of that data can be useful.

Third, compliance data only. The challenge here is you are guessing at how well treatment is going and you are guessing whether any changes in settings were helpful or not. A few things to consider: a) AHI is not a perfect measure...and it does not tell you type, clustering or duration. There are also some false positives that can appear (folks here sometimes call them SWJ -- sleep/wake junk); b) The only way that you can objectively optimize your settings is with a new titration study (and, at best, that captures a single night); c) If your subjective quality of sleep declines, you cannot identify objective measures that are correlated without a new sleep study. I am not saying you will (or even should) look at the data regularly -- but it is not even there if you have issues or to verify that treatment is still optimized. And the data is not there for your doctor either.

My analogy: You are diabetic and have your treatment dialed in. You get a glucose meter that will only tell you (and your doctor): normal or abnormal. It also only lets you test once a day in the evening -- and tells you how many times you were not normal over the last 8 hours. It does not say high or low nor does it say when during the day nor does it say how long the spikes lasted. If it is high (or low), you don't have enough information to change your treatment. You don't know when the spikes happened -- before meals, after exercise, etc. Where they severe or just barely? How long did they last?

Now, to your question. You say you have the S9 Autoset now. That is an auto adjusting full data machine. You say you are going to a compliance only basic CPAP. This would very much NOT be the newer version of your old machine. Very limited data and not auto adjusting.

But I don't think you know what you got -- could it be the AirSense 10 Autoset? Or is it the AirSense 10 CPAP?
