Resmed S9 Power restarting randomly
Resmed S9 Power restarting randomly
My cpap is restarting at night at random. Also, when i wiggle the power cord it turns off & back on, but the power pack seems to be ok when I checked with a voltmeter. I just wondered if this was a common problem and what the fix is, before I attempt disassembly to troubleshoot it. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Resmed S9 Power restarting randomly
Might be a loose connection where the power cord attaches to the machine on the back side.
There are little pins inside that end of the power supply that sometimes get broken or bent and make the connection intermittently.
I would as whomever you got the machine from if they had a spare power supply you can try and see if that fixes the problem or not before trying to take apart the machine itself.
If that takes care of the problem then just buy a new power supply or maybe your DME will sell you one and insurance could maybe pay for it.

Re: Resmed S9 Power restarting randomly
Same problem with me.
Moreover, when I wiggle the power cord (a new power cord BTW), my S9 turns on, but it stops working -- LCD shows messages like "motor fail" or (more recently) "system error".
In such cases, I have to disconnect the power cord, wait for some minutes, connect it again and slap the S9 plastic bottom some times. Only then it starts.
