Anyone else playing the didgeridoo to help with apnea?

That's Tyler Spencer in that video playing one of his agave didgeridoo. I own two of his didgeridoos, and he's a really nice guy to boot.

My doctor just wrote a prescription for me for a didgeridoo! I'm turning it in along with my receipt from L.A.Outback, and my doc says that it should be covered by my insurance just like the other gear. I'll keep y'all posted.

Here we go again. Two fellas completely off topic over an off topic post. I must say, however, that if someone reading this thread doesn't have any appreciation for the didgeridoo (or respect for those that play for fun and/or therapeutic reasons) should be nice or go away.

Naturally, L.A.Outback will come up very often in these posts because they are the premier importer of didgeridoos in the U.S. (and Mark and Barry are very nice folk who know their didges). This thread, which I started, is not an add for L.A.Outback, but that's where most people in the U.S. get there didges from.

So, if you can't say something interesting, informative, or at least on topic... please buzz off.

Wow! Lots of great articles in magazines this month about the didgeridoo helping to releive symptoms of OSA. One is in the current issue of Mens Health, and one in Health magazine. The one in Men's Health focuses on "strange cures that really work" and it's got some other ineteresting remedies that deviate from the medical norm.

Yup, my insurance co. is paying $68 towards my new $89 didgey! They called my doctor to ask about it and they called back after a meeting the next day to say it is newly covered under "therapeutic accessories". I have a PPO with Blue Cross and they wanted a copy of my receipt along with my doc's script.

I know that my doctor had a chat with Barry at L.A.Outback as well, and it all worked out though I really wasn't expecting it too I bought a "Walkabout" didgey and you can see what they look like on this page - just scroll down to middle of page at: http://www.laoutback.com/didgeridoo/sho ... page1.html

This is the very first thing that's ever made me happy about my insurance co.

a friend at work told me to day she was reading an alternative
medical magazine and it talked about didgeys in it ... she
is going to try to find it again for me
