Which hose hanger should I buy?

Post by bryansong » Sat Oct 29, 2016 2:44 pm

I've recently had to change from being a stomach sleeper to a back sleeper due to some medical issues so I've had to change mask and head gear.
If I can get used to this it can be a blessing because there are a lot of better mask options out there for me. I'm now using an Air fit P10 but
I'm having trouble with the hose and need to get a hanger.

What hose hanger would you suggest I purchase?

Bryan

Check out Sears parts: Washer Drain Hose Retainer Part #: WH41X10133
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-nu ... 6/363.html

This is the hanger that comes with a new washing machine and provides support to the drain hose. In my application it hangs from the bed's steel headboard frame (held with a magnet attached to the hose hanger with a bolt & Nut). In another setup I attached the hanger to the wall with a screw & anchor. This hanger is exactly the right dimensions for the xPAP hose (22mm, 15mm, or heated) and allows smooth movement when adjustment in length of the hose is needed; the ends of the support channel are designed to allow easy removal and replacement of the hose when cleaning or when travelling.

Cpap.com has several hose hangers.
I would suggest any one.

I have a home-made contraption consisting of a swivel plant hanger, section of fishing rod, and hair scrunchies.
When we travel, I take scrunchies and duck tape or clothes pins.
Nothing fancy, just odds and ends for an impromptu "invention".

I use the hose boss type that goes between the mattress and box spring....love it. Prior to that one I had a swivel plant hanger screwed to the headboard.... if my husband had been alive to see that.. I would be the deceased one.. "WHAT!! YOU PUT SCREWS IN OUR SOLID OAK HEADBOARD!!!!!!!!!!" tee hee
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

<hair scrunchies>

This made me literally laugh out loud, ChunkyFrog. Very inventive and one can coordinate with the current bedding of the day/night!
I like jerry-rigging things too tho' my instruments of choice tend to be stuff I crocheted, beading wire, and various cable ties. Ya' ought to see the walkers I've decked out for use after surgery. But I refuse to use gray duct tape...got to at least be the clear tape.

I have a old fashion bed with a headboard I just hang the hose over the top (about 2.5 ft above the matress.) the wall holds it in the middle of the bed. Jim

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have a head board and I do have a 12" mattress so I should try to get one of the taller models.

The Cozy Hoze Boss works real good. Use it with Scotch 3M wall attachment strips.

a 3m command hook stuck to the wall over the head of the bed works great, and can be removed without tearing up the wall.

I used 3M's Command Cord Bundler - two of them on my headboard, but they would work fine on the wall too:

Bryan, I use this one:

Its $18.99 in Amazon.

When I travel, I use the Cozy Hose Boss to control my hose. I just hook it to the wall higher than where my head will be when I am in bed. When I am at home, I simply run it up over the the headboard of my bed which keeps it out of my way. I am a back sleeper. At home, I use an adjustable bed, and when traveling, I use two foam wedge pillows to keep my head elevated which takes pressure off my back so my arthritis doesn't bother me at night.
