I read it as a typical newbie "hey, I have the same thing happening to me, you should talk to your doctor like I did". post.

the last part: "When I tried CPAP it worked for the Obstructive Apneas, but the machine induced Central Apneas in me at a rate similar to yours. If I was you, I would talk to the Sleep Doctor about this. It should have shown up in your sleep study, but could have been missed. I hope this helps!"

Well, you know, I guess I'm just tired of being jumped/dumped on for having opinions different from yours, everyone else's apparently... sick of being wrong all the time, so have a nice life.

Lars52, please research Complex Sleep Apnea. It may be what you are suffering from. I was not trying to derail your thread. Thanks!

And Ray I'm sorry... did not mean to be rude to a newbie, just reacted too fast.

Should I be considering the possibility of using a different machine (currently using Res Med Auto Set S9) or should I just be more patient and hope the centrals fade away? Thanks
How was your pressure set? Through a lab titration study? What is your pressure(s)?

Are you interested in posting a typical night's detail graph for us to look at? (Instructions - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=111910&view)
Many nights they are averaging about 10 per hour (some nights they are down to 5 or so per hour)
How long are each of the centrals? If you click on the events tab in Sleepyhead, you get an itemized list.

This has become chronic. I am concerned about your health.

On the other hand, if you are trying to multi-task causing sloppiness in your answers, you need to change what you are doing.

My initial sleep test was a home study. The results of that test were: OA = about 2 CA = about 3 Hypopnea = about 10 The home test was then followed up with an overnight titration study at the clinic. Based on those results my pressure has been set at a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20. I will try to post a typical night's detail graph tonight and also the length of the centrals. Thanks.

Did the lab note central apneas at your titration study?

I hope you don't mean permanently. Your post was very useful and let the OP know there were some options out there.

As with anyone, you're right some of the time and wrong some of the time. A differing opinion, even a minority opinion, isn't necessarily wrong and can frequently be right.

I've found your posts to be useful and a definite counterweight to other people's opinions, which they sometimes express as fact instead. I hope you're just having a bad day, I'd really hate to see you go.

Thank you so much! I was having a lousy night, but not an excuse to offend someone.... however I don't honestly think I was offensive as much as just not terribly diplomatic... thank you for understanding different shades of things. Unfortunately there are people here who get particular satisfaction in detailing wrongs of certain others, seem to get positive glee from doing it, and once in a while it gets tiring. Luckily we can push a button and it all goes away. Hope you stick around in spite of our weirdness = we do mean well most of the time.

Forums where everyone agrees get old real quick and everyone simply sits around naval gazing and repeating the same mantras over and over. Or you get a couple of strong personalities that can totally wreck a a group unless people keep em honest.

I have tried to get a screen shot and post it here. Hopefully it works; have not done this (or used Imgur) before.

Lars - looks just as you said (and you did the link properly), but wait for people more knowledgable about your stuff than I am - you'll get lots of good advice.

Omne - Interestingly, this forum today is very different than it was a year ago, when it was also somewhat different from what it had been 3 yrs before that, when it was really vibrant, so interesting and so many of the people were really bright, knowledgable, funny, you name it... then as things go, a lot of those (more or less orig. to the forum from the start) drifted away and newbies came in... not as exciting, but still at least informative and sometimes fun. Then a year ago a rather disturbed person showed up, with an insatiable amount of questions, huge # of posts, lots of people jumped in trying to help, but it seemed the more that went on the more messy things got and ended (if you could call it that) in serious nastiness, a lot of very bad feelings, etc. etc. and the forum was almost destroyed... so what you see now are in a way the dregs of the old one(s), trying to come back, but as life usually goes, there are still some not so great apples around, a few half decent ones trying help each other and a couple who haven't taken their expertise with enough grace, but are tolerated because they do know a lot and are certainly needed for now. I so miss the real old days, but ... hopefully things will turn around again and a new core will form without too much nastiness left. So now you know everything... for tonite, anyhow.
