I too would like to download encore 2.x. I have been using encoreviewer 1.x with my M-series APAP but would like to explore additional capabilities. And I expect to upgrade soon, perhaps to system one.

I think that Encore Basic would be a better choice, wouldn't it? Encore Pro installs all the Microsoft database software because it was designed to handle many different patients at the same time and is a pain to install.

Encore Basic leaves out all the database stuff that you don't need and works fine for one person.

I've been using the SleepyHead software for some time but I would really like to be able to use Encore Pro to see how the "official" Respironics data compares with SleepyHead.
I'd be very grateful if someone could send me a PM with a download link (Pugsy perhaps?)
Many thanks.

Check your PMs.
Pro is a PITA...Encore Basic is less of a PITA so I would recommend it over Pro if you are going to be using it much. Reports are identical and Basic is much easier to install and use.

YES!!! This thread ought to be ended because Encore Pro is a difficult, bloated program that is inappropriate for most home users due to its huge database burden, passwords and security provisions for managing multiple patients. EncoreBasic is what these people want and produces the same report and information. I honestly don't know why you continue to send this via PM. What a waste of time.

I don't make it public because the source I got it from asked me not to make it public and I gave my word that I wouldn't.
Simple as that.
That was back when I was given a link to Respironics website to download Basic...that source dried up (Respironics moved it so we couldn't get to it) and now I have to use another way to help people out and I don't want that source public...it's mine and I have that right.

Now if someone else wants to do something differently...hey go for it. Just don't link to my online holding site please.
Or send them over to the apneaboard and have them jump through the hoops over there.

Oh...Pro? Hey, it's not my job to tell them what to do or what to use...that includes software and some people just HAVE to try Pro because they think that "Pro" means better.
If they want Pro...they can have Pro but I almost always offer Basic too Fiand figure they are grown adults and capable of making their own decisions.

For a while Pro was the only product that would work with the 960 machines...even now sometimes SleepyHead acts up.

And some people simply don't believe me when I say that Basic and Pro both offer the exact same daily detailed reports and summary reports...they gotta see for themselves.
That's fine...if the situation were reversed there's probably a good chance I would want to see for myself too...because that's the way I am.

Pugsy speaks the truth. The only thing included in the encore pro version that isn't in basic is the ability to handle many, many different patients and their cpap machines. It does this by installing a huge honking microsoft database to keep the information for many different people accessible. So they can put all the contact information for all of those patients and their doctors and all of their data for years in there.

But we are not DMEs. We do not have to keep track of the data for hundreds of people. We only care about how our own therapy is going. And that is all included in encore basic. The data read from the machine and displayed by the program is identical between the encore pro and the encore basic version. The reports produced are the same.

And installing encore pro is much more difficult because of all the database stuff it installs. Encore pro has lots of extra crap that individuals do not need to keep track of their progress.

Listen to Pugsy - use encore basic, if you need to use encore at all. But, even better, if your machine is supported by it, use SleepyHead! Encore is designed to produce written reports. SleepyHead will do that and will also allow you to interact with the data in wonderful ways - you can zoom, and pan and slide and focus on exactly what you want to see. It's miles ahead of encore pro.

That's an interesting twist on my intent.

I have used Encore Pro and Basic. It is senseless to use Pro unless you maintain a database of several hundred patients. The average request on this thread is coming from people that don't know better, and think they're getting something special because it's named "pro". It is a total waste of Pugsy's time and is ultimately not beneficial even to the people asking for it. I think you know I have nothing but appreciation for all the Pugsy freely contributes here. Now, back in your corner with the Resmeds.

perhaps you do, perhaps you don't, but it wasn't very clearly expressed, OBVIOUSLY, since she got a different impression from your statement.
