Heated tube?

I live in Minnesota and have a question about buying a heated tube. It is cool in our house at bed time (65 degrees) and if I set the humidity @ 3.5 or higher I get rain out in my hose. I was visiting my folks this past weekend and they keep their temp at night in the low 70's. I turned the humidity up to 4 and really liked it and no rain out. A heated tube for my machine is $51 or would a hose sleeve help out. I tried to put the hose under the covers but that didn't work. I'm a new hose head and always have more questions than answers.

You can get a climate line, or do a forum search for "reptile heater". It's a $15.00 fix if you're handy. Hose covers help alot and you can just use tube socks. I think I paid $10 for a hose cover. I have a reptile heater to run inside that when it gets really cold. I may buy a climate line this year. At least the climate line powers off the machine! I'm running out of outlets!!

I am also in MN and just use a hose cover...all is well.

In a recent similar post, I stated that my climate line did not feel warm to the touch. I thought it was because it's temp. was less than my skin temp.
I want to take this opportunity to retract that statement. I went to bed unusually late the other night, on a cold evening, long after our programmable thermostat had lowed the room temp., and the climate line was definitely warm to the touch.

I love my ClimateLine.

Best $51 bux I've spent since getting the machine in Sept.

I don't get rainout in my pillows either. I also have my temp and humidity separated..... Humidity is set at 4.5 and my ClimateLine's temp is 81. Love it!

Interesting. I'm with Aetna and my DME said that insurance companies are rejecting coverage on the ClimateLine hose, saying they'll only cover a standard (non-heated) hose. Because of my sleep studies this year, I'd hit my deductible and out of pocket maximums for the year so I've been stocking up on supplies. They told me if I wanted to get a ClimateLine, they required a personal credit card and said I'd be charged $51 for it. Anybody else being told insurance won't cover this hose?

Hi

Kinda hijacking the thread but...

I am planning on purchasing a S9 Autoset in January and was wondering about the Climateline hose. I had a couple of questions

From what I've seen, the main purpose of the hose is to limit the amount of rainout? I live in Colorado where there isn't much humidity, and in the last year and a half I believe I had rainout once maybe twice. It doesn't sound like I may need it for that purpose.

How's the durability? I believe I've read that it's kinda fragile? I've been using the same hose since I started and have not had any issues. I do have a spare in case something breaks but have not needed it so far.

Thanks for any information you may be able to provide!

The last 2 climateline hoses I received are made out of a thicker material and at least for me have been more durable.
