Re: I need hand holding
A better way to say that is that setting trigger higher will make the machine more sensitive to the start of your inhalation, and trigger the switch to IPAP with less inspiratory effort, the transition happens at the same speed though. Again, it has nothing to do with speed. Changing cycle is somet...

Re: I need hand holding
There are two more settings you can consider changing in the future. Caution: placing these two sensitivity settings too high can lead you to feel as if the CPAP is driving your breathing pattern rather than you being in control of the CPAP machine. —feels like I’m pulling too hard to get air. I wan...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions
Is this pretty typical or do some machines also analyze the condition? If so, can you give me just one sample machine to read further on? There aren’t any CPAP machines that analyze untreated condition. Any pressure is treatment so they can only provide info on treated condition. I've been reading ...

Re: New to CPAP, need help choosing right pressure.
I ask because I was just diagnosed with 'severe' OSA, with an AHI of 30.3. I guess I'm in for a rocky ride if my value is 3x worse than yours! The severity of OSA has no correlation as to whether you’re going to have a “rocky ride.” Some people take to the CPAP therapy like ducks to water (pray tha...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions
Yes, the AutoSet is an “Auto”. It allows for lower pressure levels when you don’t need the extra support -> less aerophagia, the air swallowing you’re experiencing. PATWatch is good enough for screening - your diagnosed AHI of 30.5 is far from the margins so that you needn’t worry about its accuracy...

Re: New BiPAP machine
I felt like I couldn’t take full breaths. The pressure would be super low and then spike on inhale but drop drown mid inhale. Is this what a Bipap is? Anyway to make the inhale longer? If TiMax time expires before you finish inhaling, the machine will cycle from IPAP to EPAP. Increasing TiMax will ...

SD cards bigger than 32GB require some extra effort.
Please read the following:

Iloveflowers’ post has link to software that can used to set up the SD card with a partition smaller than 32GB.

Re: Wellue O2 Ring multiple sessions during the night
Try some medical tape to immobilize the o2ring like they do for fingertip oximeters in sleep tests.
Don't wrap the tape too tightly or you're going to have an annoying numb finger (from past experience)

Re: Need high exhale pressure
I've gone as high as 19 on both inhale/exhale and the same thing happens. If you're configuring inhale and exhale pressure then you're not running in the CPAP mode. You're using bi-level (VAuto/AutoSet) mode. Use CPAP mode in the clinical menu. With EPR off, there's only one pressure setting. So yo...

Re: Rapid heartbeat with 12-13 readings on Resmed
However recently instead of blowing at level of 5 or 6 later in the night it wakes me up at level 12-13 with very rapid heartbeat. WAG: you're being woken up by under treated apneas. The rapid heartbeat due to adrenaline rush when your brain tries to wake you up. Maybe change your min pressure to 1...

Re: Oscar stopped working on my PC
The culprit may be that the Graphics Engine was somehow set to “Software Engine” instead of the default “Desktop OpenGL” That setting will sometimes make OSCAR take an inordinate time to render the screen view. Let it sit for an hour(??? How ever long it takes) Once the Welcome screen or the Profile...

I am an active side sleeper so I prefer having the tube attached on top. It can help to have the hose totally out of the way for your masks that don’t have the tube on top.
