sore neck
sore neck
I have had an sore neck (left side) off and on for several weeks. Has anyone else has this problem? I notice that if I roll over and sleep on my left side, I often wake up because the hose is bothering me. I am assuming that the hose is causing my problem. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Re: sore neck
I haven't had problems with the hose, but I have had with soreness from my pillow arrangments. Been experimenting with different pillows and once in a while I end up with a sore neck. Could it be your pillow?
Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

Re: sore neck
Recently I acquired what CPAP.com calls a "Hose Buddy," which is a hose hanger system and it has been a big help in keeping the line straight while not pulling on the mask and causing leaks.
A lot of folks here use a buckwheat pillow to help as well.

Re: sore neck
I use a memory foam pillow that I purchased at Macy's. I tuck the pillow almost down to my shoulder and my neck is supported. It's a great pillow... with or without Cpap.

Re: sore neck
When you start cpap therapy, you may experience aches and pains that you haven't experienced before. I think it's because you are sleeping better, you are having uninterrupted sleep and you may be sleeping in one position longer (no tossing and turning).
I use the memory foam pillow (Contour-brand) that cpap.com sells. It's wonderful. I can sleep on my side without mask interference and no mask leaks. The memory-foam pillows are hard and flat. The hose buddy is also great.

Re: sore neck
I screwed a wall plant hanger to by headboard and route my hose through that, now it just hangs above my face and I can turn over with ease.......no hose in the way or to drag. I also am now using a buckwheat hull pillow and find I can shift hulls to my neck area and shift them away from my mask...seems to be working great.
