*Merry Christmas* How has this site helped change your life?

Post by soulfixinman » Tue Dec 18, 2007 8:03 pm

I wish everyone the best during this upcoming week of Christmas, I will be celebrating the birth of my Lord Jesus Christ. Reflect on the truths you hold dear and remember to give thanks.

I personally would like to thank everyone here at cpaptalk.com for providing all the information I needed to get my sleep apnea in order.
I no longer have that tired run down feeling during the day as I became surprisingly aware of during my last visit to my sleep doc and filled out that standard questionaire,
Now I could not be without my Xpap
here I found out how to deal with
the sleep doctor
the DME
presciptions
I found out what some of the best bipap machines were and gained the knowledge to stick to it dealing with the doctor and the dme till I got what I wanted.
I ordered the software to watch my own progress and made one adjustment to bring my AHI from an average of 5 to about 2.2
Then when I went to the doctor I gave him a cd of all my records and a print out of my compliance data from day 1 of my auto bipap.
The doc was glad I did as he somehow accidentaly erased all my data after he downloaded it under another patients name.
He tried to tell me something might be wrong with my smart card, no I fixed it by removing the other patients name and starting new.

a special Merry Christmas to Laura "rested gal" you helped me so much.
I did not want to wait till the busy days ahead so
Happy Holidays to everyone here
Dave

Everyone here is SO knowledgable about the equipment out there. I appreciate that. I also have had many chances to "Pay It Forward" I can't tell you how many pms I have gotten about my success with the Oracle mask and people who want advice on how to adjust to it.

CPAPTALK helped me have the right "atitude" when I started XPAP. I learned what was ahead of me, understood the ups and downs, what to expect and many ways to resolve the many pitfalls of life as a hosehead. I learned to laugh at myself, to not be discouraged and fight through the low times.

All said and done I have been able to be 100% compliant since starting XPAP last March (I'm a lucky one). I'm healthier and happier now and I don't have to fight to stay awake at work. I attribuite most of this to the folks of CPAPTALK, without them I'd likely still be fighting the apenia demeins and be one of the CPAP failures and very, very miserable.

My deepest thanks go to all those who for the most part unknownly helped me as I "lirked" on this forum.

Merry Christmas or to be PC Happy Holidays to all on CPAPTALK and to our sponsers at CPAP.COM.

Whoever said "Ignorance is bliss" didn't know anything about OSA.

Holiday gratitude

When I found this forum I was a cpap dropout and I believe I was near to having "catastrophic multiple systems failure". As it was, it took several weeks before I could do much more than go from my bed to resting in my bedside chair to get the strength to go on the few more steps to the bathroom. I seriously doubt I would be here this Christmas and to start a new year with my family if not for the guidance and support I got here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Kathy

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! THANKS to all of you who've helped me better understand my OSA and how to improve my CPAP therapy. After more than a year of "pseudo-therapy," not even knowing that things were not working, I found cpaptalk.com--learned about "data," auto machines, and now my AHI averages around 2.7 rather than 9 (when I learned about the data feature, I was able to download the previous 6 months stats from my previous machine, Resmed S8 Elite). I especially have to thank RestedGal, Snoredog, Slinky, Bill Bolton, 6PtStar, sleepycarol, Wulfman, and yes, even you Goofproof (just joking about he "yes, and even you part!). You changed my life, and I'll be eternally grateful.

Ted
