Z1 Fault 33 Issue and Response from Breas
Z1 Fault 33 Issue and Response from Breas
The following is an email exchange with an orders@Breas person.
Fault 33 - Means the internal battery for memory has stopped working and can no longer save data in its memory.
While the issue will continue to occur in the Z1's due to lack of use, Covid paid a huge factor in this, the new Z2 does not appear to have the same issue.
I just did not remember any instructions on the Z1 instructing one to plug the unit in during periods of extended non-use. Did I miss this point in the provided instructions?
No unfortunately there are no statements in the instructions manual. This was more discovered as with travel coming to a halt there was a lot of non use of the units. So going forward the recommendation is to plug the unit in once a month to ensure consistency.

Non-rechargeable lithium batteries are often used in these applications.
These batteries have long lifespans, often ranging from 5 to 10 years.
Plugging it in will not help. The lifespan is continuous, and failure is inevitable.
Contact Acbio.com, if you are reluctant to change your battery yourself.
Continuous non-use spares other parts from wear, but not the battery.

Is the internal battery customer replaceable? If so, are there any instructions on how to do this? I've searched online but cannot find any instructions on this.

It depends on the customer.
How into DIY are you?
The process requires skill with tools, possibly soldering.
Some posters have done-or attempted it.

I haven’t looked but ifixit.com would be the first place I would look.

Sorry. I just looked and they don’t have that machine though they do have others.

Re: Z1 Fault 33 Issue and Response from Breas
HI.
Just got the error 33 on the z1
Has anyone found out how to replace the battery?
It's a decent travel machine. I'd rather fix it than to lug a larger one around & I won't be spending more money on another travel machine.
I assumed (yea...I know) that it wouldn't wear out from lack of use.

My husband is having the same issue. I found this site with instructions on how to replace the battery, but it isn’t an easy DIY project: https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Threa ... eplacement
