I haven’t overridden it anywhere as far as I’m aware. I tried setting some lower and upper values in Preferences – Waveforms – Pressure, but that didn’t have any effect.

You right click on the name of the graph, then select x-axis.

Auto-Fit for that particular night that I posted must be wrong. Also, the max pressure in Details on the left says 9.26, while the graph peaks at 10.22.

OSCAR doesn't calculate the Maximums as the true Maximum, instead it uses the 99% percentile, so as to remove any outliers.

This was a configuration item in SleepyHead v1.0.0, Preferences / CPAP / Maximum Calcs / Select (True Max / 99% percentile)

Under OSCAR that option is still there, but greyed out and therefore forced at 99% percentile. I believe this was changed in the 1.0.1 SleepyHead Beta and was a contentious point between Mark and other team members.

Ever since I switched to Oscar all of my Hypopnia events show as 10 seconds...whether there are 2 or 10...Every day they are all 10 seconds. Centrals and Obstructive look normal.

All my Hypopnea on OSCAR and SleepyHead are always 10 seconds. I believe this is the way they are flagged on the ResMed AS 10 vs the S9.

It turns out the ResMed cpap machines do not report the duration of a Hypopnea. So SH and earlier versions of Oscar arbitrarily assigned a duration of 10 seconds to every hypopnea, since a hypopnea by definition was at least 10 seconds long. The latest test version does not do assign a value that is sure to be wrong, so no time will be shown for a Hypnopnea on the Events tab of the daily page in the next release.

A nice-to-have feature; I like to keep an eye on UF1 and UF2 in addition to CA, OA, and H. Sometimes I think it could be useful to view the sum “AHI” of all active events, and I wish there was an option for showing this value somewhere in Details.

I finally downloaded & installed Oscar. My Sleepyhead data transferred just fine. I found out how to delete old data that I didn't want to see anymore, but found I can only delete one day at a time instead of a whole month at a time. I just want to keep 1 year worth of data on Oscar & my SD card. I started in April 2018 and now show only Jan 1 2019 to present. On Jan 1 2020 I will be able to delete ALL data with one swoop. It's just a ME thing that I only want to see 1 year at a time. I plan on reformatting my SD card & deleting last years data from Oscar every Jan 1st. The only issue I had was my new computer does not have a SD card slot. My husband's new computer (different make & model) also does not have a SD slot. Only laptops seem to have the slot. My husband helped me download the files from the SD card on his laptop then saved them to my desktop. Oscar had no problem with "finding" the files on my desktop. Of course, I had to tell Oscar where to find them! But.. my husband has a digital media device that he uses to download photos from his digital camera or computer. Going forward, he suggested I use the SD media device which plugs into the USB port. That way, I don't have to boot up his laptop in order to transfer files.

So far, I like Oscar.

Unless you are short on disk space you should be able to keep the data in OSCAR. The machine overwrites the oldest data on the SD card if necessary so no need to reformat and add extra wear to the SD card.

When I was using Sleepyhead & downloaded new data, the old stuff was still there. When I installed Oscar today, my oldest stuff from April 2018 (when I started therapy) was included. so.. my data is not being overwritten. I realize Oscar and my SD card may be able to store a lot of data, but I don't want to see anything older than a year. My choice, not something everyone should do. My Doctor has not followed up with me since my first 3 month follow-up. He used data from My Air by logging into his own computer to see my results. He didn't even ask for my machine or SD card. If I get called in for another follow up (which is not likely since it would have happened by now), I am not even going to bring my machine or SD card to the office. At the time I was told I had to bring my machine with me (did not ask for a SD card). When I discovered that they didn't even want to LOOK at my machine, I was ticked having to lug it to the appointment for no reason. When I asked why I had to bring my machine if they weren't going to get data from it, they told me "because we may have wanted to change your settings" . GRRRRR ... I told them I already knew how to change my setting in the maintenance menu and that next time, I will not be lugging my machine with me, I can change the settings on my own if needed. Maybe that's why I was never invited back? LOL

From what we understand the machine will overwrite the old summary data (over 1 year) that is stored on the machine itself. This is the machine stored data. So the overwriting after one year pertains to the internal memory of the machine itself. It of course doesn't store any detailed data files which is why we have to have the SD card in the machine to get anything other than summary numbers.

It won't overwrite anything on the SD card except the very old summary data which isn't the storage hog anyway. It's those detailed data files that takes up the bulk of the space and if the card gets full because of those old data files I am unsure if those old detailed data files will be touched.
I don't know of anyone who has actually filled up a SD card that has mentioned what happened to the very old data on the SD card.
Summary numbers yes...those match up to what is in the machine's internal memory but I am thinking the detailed data files older than 1 year will simply sit there unless you manually remove them which you could do easily enough. They are all dated and easy to spot.

I do have an AirSense machine with more than 1 year on the SD card I think....I just got a new machine and I think I left the old card in the older machine. If I think about it I will create a new profile and import to OSCAR and check to see if the old files are still there past 1 year in terms of summary numbers matching that are older.

thank-you Pugsy. My tech guru (hubby) mentioned that my SD card is almost full & I should reformat it. Maybe I will hold off on that and see what happens. Thanks for testing this for yourself with your new profile in Oscar.

In my mind , none of the SH 1.1.0 changes made to the "Preferred Calculations" make a lick of sense. The user used to have options. If someone wanted to report all of the statistics 1% below the true value - they could change it. We had all sorts of good options - all locked out starting with 1.0.0 and then transferred into Oscar.

But what bothers me *WAY* more than the locked down "99% True Maximum" is the inability to change the "Middle Calculation" from locked down "Median" to one of the averages that SH 1.1.1 had available. Median is a terrible choice IMO.

I know I've beaten this drum earlier in this post, but I didn't ask the key question: Will the "Preferred Calculations" area be functional again in the next release of OSCAR?

Here are screen shots of last night in SH and OSCAR. Both displaying the dotted line defined by the "Middle Calculation". SleepyHead is using "normal average", and OSCAR is using "median" for "Middle Calculation"(which can't be changed). You can see - the choice of median is not a useful "middle calculation".

For now, I'm still importing into both. I use SleepyHead. I switch to OSCAR if I want to post a screen shot. Much easier to look at.

I have logged this as an issue. I want to know why these options were locked out for ResMed machines (they are still available for PRS machines) in SH 1.1.0. I presume there was a reason, but I don't know what it was.
