I got another PM from the person who sent that scam PM yesterday - same title ... I am not going to open it, but keep it for a while in case it's needed to keep this from happening again. How can we stop this?
One thing that comes to mind is that we who have received it should change our user names, but what irks me is that we shouldn't have to do that.
That same scam PM again today....

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.
Re: That same scam PM again today....
Just delete it - no one's going to 'need' your copy - those things are usually machine generated anyhow and the names change all the time. I got them too and just deleted them. Your having gotten another one is no biggie, just a glitch. Never open such things but get rid of them immediately.
Re: That same scam PM again today....
Just ignore it. Delete it if you wish...I already sent Carolyn a copy of what I got and it's the same as what others have received and even if not exact it doesn't matter.
Why bother changing IDs? That won't stop them unless you don't use the new ID and post and once you do post with any ID the person can glean your new ID.
I don't think putting the spammer on the foe list blocks incoming PMs...I think I tried that a while back and failed but can't swear to it.
The only sure fire way to prevent it right now at this moment.....don't allow any PMs at all....and that's way overboard of a response for a little spam PM.
When Carolyn gets back from her holiday you can bet she will block this person from the forum and if at all possible the IP address where the messages are being generated from.

I've deleted it now... I rather thought that changing IDs wouldn't change things which is why I didn't do that. You're right, it needs to go through our forum administrators.

I hope this spam influx doesn't multiply with other spammers becoming a daily pest. I have a hard enough time managing my inbox without a lot of junk filling it up. Furthering what Pugsy said: I remember a month or two ago that somebody said avi123 had blocked all his incoming PMs, avi123 soon responded and said he did it accidentally (or something to that effect), I don't know if he fixed it or not. I guess that would be one draconian solution, but I don't know how to block all PMs nor do I plan to do it

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I think what you are remembering is that Avi said he tried to ENABLE PMs - but wasn't successful, or something to that effect.Sir NoddinOff wrote:I hope this spam doesn't spread and become a daily pest. Re: That same scam PM again today....
Somehow I missed this new thread this morning, it's about Avi123 and his PM's. There is apparently some discussion on what's going on with his PMs. Side Note: I did try to PM him a few months ago and got a general reply saying "PM messages blocked":ems wrote:I think what you are remembering is that Avi said he tried to ENABLE PMs - but wasn't successful, or something to that effect.
