buying first cpap

Post by candigirltoo » Sat Jul 05, 2014 5:54 pm

I'm new here, just diagnosed last week and I need to buy a machine--no insurance currently so I need a used one. From what I have read here, a resmed s9 autoset is a good choice. Where do you think is the best place to get one? How many run hours max should I look for? How much should I expect to pay? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

secondwindcpap, unless you find a good deal on craigslist.

I'd start with the prices on secondwind and evaluate.

If you have the "garden variety" of OSA (and not complicated with Centrals/Mixed), either the ResMed S9 Autoset or the PR System One 560 (Auto) should provide sufficient therapy. They're both very versatile and the software is readily available.

If you have a prescription, I would suggest also looking at CPAP(dot)COM. You would get a brand new machine with full factory warranty.
