Res Med VPAP S S9 Rate Setting?
Please if anybody knows this answer. I have the res med VPAP S S9...My Rx shows a rate of 10. I can set the inspiratory and the expiratory pressure with no problem.. Just the rate , I don't see any option....Is there a rate option ? Thank you
Re: Res Med VPAP S S9 Rate Setting?
I don't think that there is a "rate" selection option on the S9 VPAP S
I think that needs to be the model S9 VPAP S/T to get a rate which sounds like it might be the backup rate.
What modes do you have available?
The S9 VPAP S only has 2 modes available....cpap mode and S mode with is essentially fixed bilevel pressure mode.
It offers EPAP and IPAP but no "rate" at all.

Re: Res Med VPAP S S9 Rate Setting?
Thanks your comment is very accurate in regards to the ST model was ordered by my Respiratory Doctor.
The DME company brought me a Res Med Vpap s s9. I called the Resp Doctor and he said it that model was ok, that is what my insurance company would cover. The rental was permanent where I would never own the machine ...So I bought one and returned the dme's rental...The machine doesn't appear to have any rate settings .. Thank you ...

The S/T model is a whole different animal and I don't know why your doctor wanted the backup rate in the first place but if you had a lot of centrals show up in your sleep study then that might be why...and the VPAP S may not be the best choice for you.
Give it a whirl since you have it though.
There is software available so that you can track your progress. The S9 VPAP will flag centrals and if you have too many of them you need to be getting back with your doctor ASAP.
SleepyHead works great with the S9 machine and there's a thread with the newest version on the main page of the forum...just look for 0.9.6 SleepyHead pre release thread.
