Remstar Auto M Series w/ C-Flex [When does it come out?]

Post by Rastaman » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:27 am

I seem to be having trouble locating a release date for this unit. I've heard the end of this month. I've heard next month. Does Respironics have a release date for this yet?

I've determined that for a basic CPAP, the Remstar Plus w/C-Flex is a very good one. If one only requires CPAP vs. any other PAP then you're getting a very good unit with the Remstar Plus with C-Flex. I can't complain.

As good as it is, I've noticed a few situations that come up on a semi-regular basis that can cause some sort of problem that seems to require some extra help. That would be when I sleep on my side. It seems like I need less pressure. And also when I'm drinking on a Friday night, I tend to maybe need more pressure. So, I'm left wondering if an APAP would suit me better.

I'm going to ask my Sleep Center this week. I got my CPAP for the same center that did my sleep study. It's a one-stop shop I guess. I have a contact name for the equipment itself. I think I'm going to call her and tell her about my findings and see if I can get into an Auto. I don't want to get the non-C-Flex option though. I know there is a Remstar Auto out, just not the M series.

When does it come out? My 1 month on CPAP appt is June 21st? Can I wait that long?

I just checked their website and it merely says coming soon.

Also, I see the Remstar Pro with C-flex is also available soon. How does that unit differ? Obviously it's not an auto. But beyond that, how is it different from the "Plus"?

I believe the RemStar Pro M will have advanced software monitoring capability, like the current Pro 2. As I understand it, only the Pro 2 and the auto have the advanced monitoring capability, the Plus and Lite only record compliance.

Okay, that makes sense.

Thanks!

All it says on the their website is "coming soon". LOL! Does that mean that even they don't have a release date?

The Remstar Pro M Series is available right now.

From the cpap.com website:

Plus (On Sale Now) One Pressure, C-Flex, Compliance Data
Pro (On Sale Now) One Pressure, C-Flex, Full Data
Auto (Due Late June) Adjusts Pressure, C-Flex, Full Data

Here's the link to the newsletter that contains this information:

SWEET! If this is true, then I should be able to approach my DME (inside the sleep center itself) and request this more enhanced model. I don't want the Taj Mahal. I just want the most reasonable choice for me at this particular time. It seems like for some, getting an APAP over a CPAP is like pulling teeth. But my insurance provider assures me it's no problem on their end. So, that's what I'm going to request. I'm a data person. I have no problem with software, and all kinds of good stuff like that. If I had to install this APAP into my computer I could do it no problem. LOL! Then my computer could get some much needed rest.
