I've had my CPAP for a bit over a week, using the Quatro and have noticed I'm developing red marks on my cheeks alongside my nose, presumably from the silicone on my skin. Talked with my RRT and he offered to give me cotton pads for it, and also gave me a Amara gel to try instead, which I'll probably use tonight.
What have your experiences been regarding masks (in general and with this sort of concern)? Is gel easier on the skin?
Thanks!

Try padacheek.com. Good product and it will do away with the marks on the cheek. Also, be sure you some moisturizer on your face. For what it's worth, padacheek also sells some strap covers that eliminate strap marks and irritation. The prices are reasonable.

Well, I found the Mirage Quattro made horrible red lines and turned my nose bridge into hamburger. The Amara with the silicone cushion was easier on my face and became my regular mask. Then I tried the Amara with the gel cushion and that was even better. Then I tried the Mirage Quattro again with the Pad-a-Cheek liner and that was really nice, the best experience for me in full face masks so far, but I run really high pressures and the air vents practically blow my fiancee out of bed, so it was back to the Amara gel until I found out I could make nasal masks work.SpectreWriter wrote:I've had my CPAP for a bit over a week, using the Quatro and have noticed I'm developing red marks on my cheeks alongside my nose, presumably from the silicone on my skin. In my experience the Amara mask -gel and silicone - leak too much. Not on all the patients but enough of them that we do not use as much. The Amara gel was an improvement but it still tends to leak around the chin area. As with all mask it will fit some people great and others not so much but some mask seem to work better on more people-the Amara is not one of them.
I like the Quattro FFM better.
