Resale Value of Remstar Plus M Series???

Post by TangledHose » Thu Mar 13, 2014 5:59 pm

Hey Gang,

My next door neighbor's mother has passed away and my neighbor asked me for some help to get a value on a RemStar Plus M Series unit that she wants to sell.....she knows that I have been a long time PAP user and wanted me to query the experts here on the board to find out what price she should ask for this unit. I looked at it and it is very clean and I considered buying It myself, but I already have a good travel/backup unit with very few hours on it so I really didn't need this RemStar.

So here is the info on the machine:

Philips RemStar Plus M Series with Heated Humidifier and C-Flex
Model #: 1051158 DOM
Software Version V 5.52
Therapy Hours: 2,308.9
Blower Hours: 3,205.2
Therapy Sessions: 293

She also has the soft side travel bag with shoulder strap and a standard hose sealed in the bag, plus a second hose not sealed that has the O2 port on the hose connector.

So, can anyone suggest a resale value if we put it on Craigs List, or would there be anyone on this board that might be interested in this machine as a backup or travel unit for themselves????

As always, Thanks for you guidance

First, was she on Medicare? If gotten under Medicare and under 13 months ago, it may still be under a rental contract.
Your friend may sell it to discover he owes the DME or Medicare way more than the machine is worth.
Help your friend cover his behind first.

I will check on that.

I see a similar unit on 1800CPAP listed for $299 - but they don't list the hours on the used machine, they just say "refurbished"

My first machine, an S9 Elite, ran up 3,200+ total hours in 9 months, so time may be an issue.

I bought a RemStar Plus M Series with heated humidifier and only 32 therapy hours for $75 off Craigslist last month.

I notice that the older machines stay on Craigslist for a long time without selling.
They just don't command even a tiny fraction of what the person remembers paying for them.
On the other hand, the Series 60 and Resmed S9s sell quickly when reasonably priced.

I bought an M Series Auto for $100. A quick check of CL around here shows them listed for $80 - $150 with one or two asking $200 - $225.
