Morning dust smells and sneezing

Post by mcke3393 » Fri Jan 21, 2005 9:28 am

When I take my mask off in the morning, I am overpowered by the smell of dust. We don't live in a dusty house and the smell is gone after a minute or so. I'm also sneezing alot lately and I've only been on the machine two weeks or so. I checked the filter and it looks fine-its the one that came with it. Any suggestions or similar experiences?
Thanks, Michael

maybe try a hepa airfilter for the bedroom...(it can't hurt)
Is your house really dry? the air on most machines is humidified that might effect you when you first take the mask off.

I'm only assuming though

I've had the same experience with dust smells (particularly the "burnt dust" smell) after taking the mask off. I've attributed it to the fact that all night I have been breathing very well filtered air and when I take the mask off I am more prone to notice the ambient dust in the room...

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't know if I was alone in smelling it.

Thanks!
