Leak Data

Post by Leadhead » Thu Jan 23, 2014 10:05 am

The leak graphs in SH have 2 colored lines. My lines are usually close together most of the night. Last night they were far apart. What do the different colors mean? I re read Pugsy's tutorial on SH but did not find anything?

I have leak explanations for the PR system one somewhere in the tutorial I think..

The difference apart...just just a scale thing so just disregard that...as it is just part of the graph scale and whatever the vent rate is.

Top line is Total leak...total leak is the mask vent rate PLUS any excess leak. Respironics machines report Total Leak.
Bottom line is a close approximation of what the leak line would be if only excess leak was reported...it is very close..probably not exact as it has been difficult to come up with formula for calculation and removing variable vent rates due to variable pressures. This bottom line would be considered similar to a Resmed leak line since those machines only report excess leak.

All that to tell you that your leak line looks darn near perfect.
