newbie

I'm a brand new newbie and haven't a clue. I've tried to use my Philips Respiridone, or whatever it is. I've studied the booklet , but can't figure it out. All I can do is turn it on and off, fill the humidifier and stick it on my face. I can't adjust the humidity or temperature so I'm breathing hot air all night and I'M MISERABLE.

Is there a CPAP for Dummies book? No wonder people give up on it.

Don't panic, keep reading here and things will start to make more sense. We're gonna ask ya for some more information from the label on the bottom of your CPAP like your model number. Take out your water tank first!!!

Let 's get the tropics out of your mask first. When your CPAP is running, their should be an illuminated number above the big button. Turn the button to a lower number. I'd bet it's on 5 and you might take it to 3 and see how it goes. You may also have a heated hose, that helps keep the moist air from condensing and running water into your mask. With your machine and hose info we can help you more.

I will check all of this tomorrow and get back on this site. I am exhausted and going to bed right now because I hardly slept last night, or the night before. I've got to learn how to do this.

I DO have a heated hose. And I'll try to lower the number tonight before I sleep.

Dinycat How did the humidity adjustment work out? As you settle in on the board, please go to the User Control Panel>Edit Equipment in your profile. We can be much more help after we have that info.
