I am a side sleeper and stomach sleeper and I don't have the strap marks you are talking about.

Anyway...have you see the Tap Pap nasal pillow mask?

I actually used it for a year or so until the P10 was released. Wasn't planning to change but found I liked the P10 and I got lazy and just didn't refit my mouth guard.

Klutzo,

You may want to try the Pilairo Q. It has all the same features that you like about the P10.

It sounds like the headgear may be too tight. It only needs to be tight enough to keep the pillows near your nostrils and no tighter.

Hi Pugsy,
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I am a mouth breather, using a tight chin strap so I can use nasal pillows (why I can't use a full mask is a long story), and also have a malocclusion and TMJ in remission with cranial sacral therapy. I looked into the Tap-Pap when it first came out and I think I remember it not being okay due to my jaw/dental issues.
I think I will do a search for Sleep Weaver here and see if anyone has used it. I measured my head and came out as a Medium, so I wonder why the P10 is so tight on me. I do not have a large nose. It's just those darned high cheek bones.
Thanks for your expertise.....I can see why you thought of the tap-pap.

Thanks skram,
I've not heard of the Pilairo Q and will go check it out PDQ!

I've been using it for 3 nights and, except for the rotten headgear, it is much better than the Swift FX.

Can I get a larger head gear for this? I like it, its my first pillow mask. But it ends up being very tight on my nose. My nose starts to hurt shortly after putting it on, to where I cant use it at all because of the pain. I have the straps fully spread apart.

@Meruem; the blue headgear is slightly longer than the pink; (if you can get it)
but either can be stretched out a bit before use by winding it around a wad of clean towels.
You can moisten it with water or water with a little hair conditioner, and let it dry while stretched.
Later on, it will stretch out faster. Daily cleaning is hard on the mask and you.
I use a baby wipe when it's needed, and wash once a week with warm water and Dawn.
I have also found that a weekly irrigation with a water pic and distilled water
gets the mesh cleaner than a toothbrush can.

Quick question for Airfit P10 users:

Do you use a short hose coozie?

I've got one of these masks on order, and I've been reading this thread. One of the things that comes up often is how light and flexible the short hose is. I'm just wondering if using a coozie will mess up that lightness and flexibility.

The AirFit was the best for me but I had marks on my face too. When I had to have chemotherapy my skin was very sensitive and I could no longer tolerate it. The DME sent me a new one as I get my supplies automatically sent and billed and I never used it!
Bought a Sleepweaver Elan on my own. It blows air like an exhaust at the connection to the tube. I thought it was leaking but my numbers were even better than with the AirFit that would shift and wake me up when it came off and made noise. I understand the Elan isn't good for higher pressures, but it works great at 12. Wondering if the alleged leaking is really just a pressure relief of some kind? The air flow just tickles my upper lip, but the cloth makes a nice seal when inflated and is great on the nose. No more sore skin

I am/was SO excited to get this mask and I NEVER thought I'd be thrilled about using my cpap. But I got it today (Saturday) and the hose (seems VERY short) won't connect to my bipap automsv advanced machine. It looks like a connector piece is missing but there's no place in the package where it would have belonged. So, I can't use it. And, being Saturday, no support is available.
Every illustration shows the mask but not its connection to the machine. The connector piece I had on my old mask doesn't come off. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you so much.

The short hose assembly on the P10 has a universal connection coupling end to any long hose out there.
Check your long hose at the mask end to make sure that nothing is stuck in it from your old mask.
There is no special connector needed to attach the P10 to any long hose out there. What usually has happened when it won't fit is something is left in the long hose from some other mask.

The short hose attached to the mask connects to another, longer hose that attaches to the machine.
Usually a hose is included with a new machine--not always though.
A plain hose can be very inexpensive;

---but if your machine was sold through a DME, somebody "forgot" something!

Pugsy, God Bless You for responding so quickly! You were right and I'm so grateful to you. Once again I'm actually excited about using my cpap. I have been wearing a full face mask - yuck! Again, thanks.
