Pilairo Q?
Does anyone have any info on the new Pilairo Q? Pics, specs, etc?
Re: Pilairo Q?
Here is the announcement:
Sounds like they are concentrating on making the vent even quieter.
Monday 23rd September 2013
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited (NZSX:FPH, ASX:FPH) announced at its investor day in Sydney today the introduction of the F&P Pilairo™ Q nasal pillows mask for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
The Pilairo Q has been designed with a focus on quietness and versatility and retains the unique advantages customers have come to appreciate with the Pilairo. These include the effective seal as a result of the unique air-pillow which self inflates with CPAP flow and the one-size-fits-most, adjustment-free, Stretchwise headgear.
In addition, the Pilairo Q offers ultra-quiet use and minimal draft to eliminate any partner disturbance. Users also now have a choice of headgear, with the addition of an alternative, adjustable version that fits a wider range of patients.
“Pilairo has been very well received by customers and Pilairo Q builds on that success to provide additional options and benefits that enhance overall therapy performance including quieter use, less draft and a greater range of fit” commented Michael Daniell, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s Chief Executive Officer.
The Pilairo Q nasal pillows mask will be introduced to Australia, Canada and the United States in the coming weeks. “Pilairo Q further strengthens our premium mask offering, which includes the recently launched Eson nasal mask, and Simplus full face mask, both of which have performed exceptionally well for our customers”, concluded Mr Daniell.

Re: Pilairo Q?
Hmmm, adjustable headgear. I didn't try this mask when it first came out because
one-size anything is guaranteed to not fit . . . ME!
I wonder what triggered the upgrade?

Re: Pilairo Q?
I will be anxious to try it to see if it is better than the Pilairo I have now. Ia m quite satisfied with the current one. The stretch back adjusts nicely to my head.
Re: Pilairo Q?
Any ideas when this might come to the US?

Pilairo Q is here
The sponsor of this forum now has the Pilairo Q. I'm curious if anyone's tried it out yet, since one of the two big new features is adjustable headgear. Unfortunately, they didn't make the "one size fits some" headgear adjustable, they added a new adjustable headgear.
At any rate, I'm wondering if anyone's tried this yet, and what they thought about the adjustable headgear. I didn't try the Pilairo when it first came out, since I was pretty sure that I was one of the ones that it wouldn't fit, but now, who knows *smile*?
Thanks.

Re: Pilairo Q?
I have had the "Q" since Thursday...it was replacing the plain Pilairo.
My thoughts...did not like the "adjustable" headgear...so I just replaced it with the "one strap fits all" gear. Right now the only positive (for me) that I can say is it VERY quiet compared to the Pilairo. The fit is totally different. It "feels" much heavier and it gives me the sensation of the dreaded "piggy nose". I don't know why...but my right nostril hurts badly with this apparatus. The first 4 nights my AHI went up just under 300%!!! -- .49 to 1.45. I did not check until after I was trying to figure out why I wasn't feeling my normal self...threw the card in SH and noticed the numbers...I don't know if that was the reason or not. Last night was back to normal numbers...waking up just before the alarm at 7.5 hours and an AHI of .5. I will continue to give this one a shot...but I have just ordered the Nuance Pro from our sponsor here and will compare the 2 and make my decision from there.
