infosmart software

Post by akg » Wed Sep 04, 2013 7:34 am

I purchased the CD Rom with the info smart software version 1.1SP 1 from fisher and paykal. I installed it on my windows 7 home edition lap top computer when I tryed to log on to complete installation. I got a message from fisher paykal saying the server is unavalible try again later. I dont know why it wont work it is only a Pentium dial- core 64 -bit proccesor 2.30 GHz may be that's why .
I can't open the 30 day trial ether.
Can some one help

Just a guess.

It's possible that the software on the disk is not complete but needs to download additional modules to install properly.
Many software vendors wish to avoid inventory nightmares for differnt versions so they just have a generic installer on the CD/DVD's they sell and then the installer gets the current version from their server.

Best guess, try later and see if the problem goes away.

Fact: I know NOTHING about Fisher Paykal software, so this is pure guesswork.

It sounds like the software is designed to work with their web server, which your machine can't reach. It's not at all unlikely that Windows Firewall is preventing this (or another tool if Windows Firewall isn't in use, but Windows Firewall is the default).

In fact, a Google search led me right back here. Check this out: viewtopic/t78005/Fisher-amp-Paykel-Info ... ccess.html

I found out why my infosmart software does not work its because I have windows 7 home premium. You need to connect to a domain for the program to work, so I would need to install windows 7 pro or windows 8 pro. Windows 8 standard will not work ether.

AKG,

Look in your Services screen, there you will find InfoSmart Server, on this place you have to start the server.
