And the routine I find works best is: 1) Open ResScan; 2) Do not open your Patient File; 3) Wait for all the "bongs" to stop before you insert SD card; 4) Insert SD card and watch QuickStart Window open; 5) Select your Patient File and click View from the QuickStart Window.

PS to above - I also much prefer ResScan's Events graph over SH's.

Nate,

Are you serious when you say that I should not use the SD Card that came with the machine? I been using dozens of other cards since then b/c I had no choice. Those cards get damaged very easily from the metal contacts rubbing on the plastic housing. If you look on the shiny contacts on the card you'll see the scratches there even after a few days of use. The male contact springs are so strong that they rip off the card thin plastic. Then they don't fit either in the S9 slot, or in the Kodak Reader for SD Cards, that I use. BTW, the 2 GB SanDisk costs $12 at Walgreens.

I'll try your above approach. Thanks.

I am still looking for a full face mask that would fit my face contour nicely b/c then I could get rid of the da-mn Chinstrap.

My face looks like that of the late Pope John Paul II, so why can't I find a FF mask to fit right?

avi, I know what ResMed says - use only their cards because of a safety precaution involving friction and presumably an inflammable like oxygen but I don't use oxygen with my machine and I doubt you do either. You could ask RMD_software his opinion - he's a member of cpaptalk. But all SD cards wear out, even ResMed's, when removed and inserted twice every day for months or years as it is not likely to have been am anticipated use. For example, nobody pulls their card out of their camera twice every day! What do you do when your ResMed card wears out - do you keep ordering new ones from ResMed?

If not, why do you want to pay Walgreens twice what Amazon charges? I only buy almonds and dried fruit at Walgreens.

Did Pope John Paul II have sleep apnea? If not, maybe that's why you can't find a FF mask that fits right.

Regards, Nate

And I wonder where they got that goofy French actor to pose with the Wisp!

Image

He's probably the first person I've ever encountered, in person or in an adv, who seems to be absolutely thrilled to find out he's got sleep apnea !

And he's so happy he gets to sleep with that neat thing strapped over his nose every night!

Hmmm. He's probably what got me excited to try the Wisp.

Nate, on that Wisp that you're using it's not nasal pillows which you been using before? As I understand from its photos, it just envelopes the nose on the outside. If yes, then it's similar to this:

Wisp cushion:

Still, mouth leaks remain.

It's the same principle, but smaller triangle and hence better seal. As long as I stay under the red line in ResScan I believe I am getting good therapy.

And nothing across the forehead, which I like. And nothing between my eyes because I do not route the hose up over my forehead. Which also brings me to the one little drawback. The exhaust vent only points up and out if the hose goes up. Otherwise, I have to use my hose hanger to have the hose come in horizontally from the right side, to avoid air brushing lightly but annoyingly over my eye as it would if the hose were to hang straight down. Needs a little design polish there, but the pros outweigh that one con IMHO. Or, if you like to route the hose up and over your head, then that would not be a problem. You'd never notice the exhaust.

Regards, Nate

I just started using the Resmed S9 3 days ago. I tried the sleepy head software, but for some reason, the AHI shows 0 even though the machine display shows 2.5, and the daily charts are not working either. I just get a spinning question mark as if there is no available data.
If it's not too much trouble, can someone please give me the link to the latest Resscan software? I want to try that software since most people are very happy with that one. I would really appreciate that because I would like to track my results.
Thanks!!

When I try to download ReScan 4.3 version I see that it's still:
(Is it possible that The ResScan 4.3 software is about 121 Megabytes in size?)

I still have 4.3 downloaded setup files in my download folder. It says it is 120 MB in size.
When I check the 4.1 setup files in my download folder it says 110 MB in size.

Version is 4.3.0.7081 When I open ResScan and go to Help and About.
Looks like your ResScan is still 4.1.
Have you installed 4.3 yet? You can install it right over 4.1 and it will update itself and there is no loss of prior data.

Question:

What's the difference that you can see and tell between 3.16; 4.1 and 4.3?

I see this flag in my downloads list but can't tell if it was actually downloaded.

Avi --

Open ResScan and go to Help > About.

If the version displayed is not 4.3.0.7081, open the downloaded file that you
displayed in your last post, click next, and allow the install wizard to proceed.

When you are finished Help > About should show 4.3.0.7081.
