Is this cheyne-stokes breathing?

Post by tqpannie » Fri May 03, 2013 6:47 pm

Okay because I have a great deal of problems reading graphs with lines and waves--Always has been a problem. Can someone tell me if this is awful?

I had one central but I was half awake at time. For some reason my pressure line doesn't show anything but I'm on a bipap not using auto with pressure of 22 IPAP and 15 EPAP.

SleepyHead and the 60 series bipaps pressure lines are not playing nice together. I have seen it on my report also.

No, that is not CSR...that's just a little basic periodic breathing that you see there and it barely lasted the 2 minutes that it needs to meet the criteria.

PB isn't always CSR....CSR is a type of PB but not the only type.

You had just a little waxing and waning of the flow that lasted for a little over 2 minutes.

CSR looks like this and normally has a bunch of centrals in it. This would just be 2 breaths.

I had this just a couple of weeks ago myself. Nothing to be alarmed about.

Thank you I don't get too worried about it usually but you know you get to reading things on the internet LOL. I just haven't seen much Periodic breathing in my stats. I'm doing so well on therapy. I just need to get an oxymeter that stays on my finger at night to see if I can lower my O2.

I don't think so: the hypopnea is in the wrong place and one overshoot/undershoot doesn't really constitute a CS sequence... plus the lag in breathing is just too short. At least in my book, but I'm not a doctor IMO, don't sweat the small s**t.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

The central didn't really concern me either because I was just waking up and my doctor told me that sometime centrals will occur because your brain isn't quite ready to be awake.

Overall I'm please with my AHI over the last 4 months.

This is an example of why I really wish that we didn't have PB/CSR as the reporting value.
It gives the impression that all PB is equal to CSR and people go reading about CSR and get all worried.
Yes, PB can be CSR but it doesn't always equal CSR. For me with what I have seen with nearly 2 years worth of PR S1 data...I have had a handful of "maybe" CSR looking PB and they were very random and very short lived episodes. Probably 95% of what I have seen looks like the one example I posted above with no centrals or really any events anywhere near the PB flagged time frame.
