face mask trouble

Post by benchie » Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:10 pm

I'm fairly new to this and I was using a mask that just covered my nose, but found that during the night I would open my mouth and wake. With my mouth dried and in my half wakeful state I would remove the headgear and go back to what was fitful sleep. I tried to solve the problem by buying a "Mirage Quattro Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear" which is the same thing I had, just for my whole face. With this I'm finding that even when I strap it on as tightly as I can stand, at some point during the night I will experience leakage from the face mask in my cheek area under my eyes. I will wake with the winds of my machine blowing against my eyes. Again my half wakeful reaction is to remove the mask.

I bought a large because that's the size my nose mask was. I'm tempted to buy a medium, but hate to just keep buying masks that I ultimately can't use. Any suggestions from the experienced would be very much appreciated!

Thanks
Mark

Download the template to check sizing.

Have you seen Jan's ideas for fitting the mask?

and the video

Most common problem is that people crank it down too tight and then it won't inflate but download and print off the template to make sure your sizing is accurate.
