♪,¸¸,¤º°`°º GRAPHS º°`°º¤,¸¸,♪ Meaning ?

Sometimes waveforms seem to speak for themselves at a glance, but actually I feel I don't even have the basics to make sure of what I see. In the image below, from EncoreBasic, what does the blue range mean on the IPAP data? does it mean that in the vertical time, the IPAP average was the red dot, while the vertical blue line at that precise time would be the actual values that were averaged for the red dot?
If so, what is the time scale for a vertical dot or line? Do the values included in the blue line represent values grouped under this time unit for 10 minutes, or 4 minutes, what length of time?
Sorry if I'm not very clear, I hope someone will understand what I'm trying to ask, and explain this blue range on the IPAP waveform.

To do so:
1. Capture the screen image to a jpg. You can use the Windows 7 Snipping Tool to do this.
2. Upload the image to a photo sharing site like PhotoBucket. You can join for free.
3. Copy the link (as text) to the image from the sharing site.
4. When posting, click on the Img button above the edit window. Paste the link between the [Img.] and [/Img.] tags.

Sounds more complicated than it is.

To delete the other thread, open it, and then click the delete button.

It's done now, I was before at a computer where I did not have all I needed.
Your post is really useful for newbies though;
but it needs to be corrected: with the dots as you have them, " [Img.] and [/Img.]", it won't work.
The correct syntax is:
Paste the link between the [img]and[/img] tags.

Thanks - it got deleted on its own, I guess the system saw it was a duplicate. Still wondering how the duplication had happened.

Someone probably gave it the spam delete, not I, I didnt want to take the chance, my dog lives on spam. Jim

I include the dots because I didn't want the system to interpret the sample tags I typed as real tags.

I wasn't too worried since the IMG button automatically generates the correct tags.

Now, back to your data...

In this graph from SleepyHead, can someone explain what do the various IPAP waveforms mean?
It seems the first IPAP icon in the icons legend must be of a different color from the 3rd one, but I cannot distinguish which color is which, on the graph lines. And what does the red waveline mean?

also, how is the time data line setup in sleepyhead? The intervals seem strange?
Is it clock time, not duration as in Encore Basic?
where does it pickup the time from? (On some graphs it looked as if I was sleeping in the daytime).
These questions are really basic to understanding graphs, but not obvious to me... I've been just guessing at the meaning of graphs for a while, but it would be great to make really sure, what they really show.

I did this title to make graphs no so threatening to look at, give hope, and of course, make the thread easy to find when scrolling down the list...
