Facial hair an issue???
I'm a newbie so if this has been asked, and I suspect it has, forgive me. Does facial hair - moustache and beard factor in to the decisions of a mask fitting properly? Any recommendations??
Re: Facial hair an issue???
Facial hair can figure in depending on mask choice and how much facial hair.
Unless you simply can't breathe through your nose at all I would suggest starting with the nasal pillow type of mask. Check out my signature line for the model I use. The least amount of surface area that a mask has...the easier it is to get and keep a seal with or without facial hair. Add in facial hair with the mask with more surface area and you have more of a challenge. It can be done though...just is more of a challenge sometimes.

Some masks will leak with facial hair and some won't. Working undercover, I have had beards and had no leak issues. But that's me... Pugs right, if you use nasal pillows, it doesn't matter.

Short beard here and use the FPOpus 360 with no problems. I use ResMed Mirage vista to give the nares a rest when needed and a ResMed Quattro FX if I have a bad cold.

I have a full beard and mustache and find that I have to keep them clipped pretty close.dos coyotes wrote:I'm a newbie so if this has been asked, and I suspect it has, forgive me. Does facial hair - moustache and beard factor in to the decisions of a mask fitting properly? Any recommendations??
However, that's not because of the fit. You can see my nasal pillows setup by clicking the link below. The fit is fine, but sometimes the "hair-headgear" interface is uncomfortable.
