Best Mask For Active Sleeper

Post by TossinNTurnin » Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:17 pm

Because I'm Obese I find that I wake up several time a night because of pressure point discomfort and need to move from back/right/left. (I have a memory foam type bed and it's better with the pressure points than my past regular style mattresses)

Anyway, wondering if there are other active sleepers out there and what your experiences have been with masks. Have a Headrest that worked well for me but, obviously am looking for new one.

I do keep my machine at 12, so I'm sort of on a borderline for nasal pillow masks and leaking.

So, if I can't use a nasal pillow, I'll just go for a "nasal"

Selecting a mask is very specific to each person. What will work for me, may make you uncomfortable. All that said, I like my Swift FX nasal pillow. It has a minimal footprint on my face, It has two very small straps to keep it in place. The straps are loose on the head (I have set my straps about 2 months ago and have not had to readjust them as I slip the mask on and off each morning over my head. My pressure is set to 9 to 15.6 and my 95% pressure is 12.3

Of course with everything CPAP related, your mileage may vary

One more vote for the Activa. It's the only mask I've tried that doesn't need to be repositioned in the middle of the night.

I used to be an active sleeper but not anymore! I use a Mirage Quattro ffm. The Mrs cannot believe the change! She is so very happy that I can get a good nights rest, no longer snore, and no longer turn over countless times a night... Good luck in your search!

I am intrigued by the Respironics Wisp - looks like it might be the answer for the active sleeper. Can't wait till it becomes available in the US - seems it may be available north of the border!
