Protecting Forehead with Mirage Quattro FF

Hi, folks. Newbie trying to get a mask that does not damagae (a) nose (b) eyes (ie, dry eyes), (c) face, and that also actually works. Seem to be making headway with Mirage Quattro Full Face. Got through a few nights without nose damage and minimal eye annoyance but... Wake up with Giant Crease on Forehead. Not sure what do about this. It has to be very tight to avoid blasting air right into my eyes and aggravating a dry eyes condition. But maybe you have some ideas about the straps, extra pads, etc?

The forehead piece has 24 adjustable positions. Did you turn the dial to try to find a comfortable position?

Yes --I've played with it. Comfortable is one thing and non-leaking is another... The mask seems determined to blast your eyes with air, so I seem to have to keep that dial turned to the max. I haven't tried the liner and/or cheek pad route yet. I get the idea of the mask floating on the face conceptually. But not in practice. I feel like there may be some strap adjustments as well. I do have a feeling that I need to get straps tighter and dial more relaxed!

I found that it worked better if I played around with how high on my nose it set.
Unfortunately, the best position was such that I ran out of chin.

You're saying lower is better? (I'm sure this face-specific but I'll take whatever clues I can get.)

Well I tried the Mirage Quattro FF and struggled with it as well. My DME put a scale of sorts by my face and said I needed a medium size ?? mask. I tried it for a few days and got it very close to working, but not perfect. Took it back and got a small size to try, thinking that would do the trick. The small was not going to work at all but I learned that loose was much better fit than tight. So I went back and got the medium mask and adjusted it as loose as possible, without leaks at my "operating pressure", while laying down with my head on my pillow. I got it to work when loose on top and just snug on my chin. Added a liner and it works very well. (However I like my Mirage FX nasal best.) Just a note that I found that how your pillow supports your neck and head are very important. Pillow position helps me with mask leaks as well as obstructive events. I would lay in bed the mask all rigged up without the hose and relax,relax,relax. Then adjust my pillow for neck and head support, like opening the airway if you will. Then hose up and go. Now I know how to lay on my pillow. Anyway loose on my forehead works for me. I know I got a little off topic with what the thread was about but it all connects. I'm surprized that there isn't much talk about pillow and neck support,??

That's very on-topic. I hadn't thought about it as a key variable. How do you think
about pillow type/placement and position?
