Looking to sell a cpap machine
Re: Looking to sell a cpap machine
Before finally selling it I would want to confirm with another sleep study that the weight loss did indeed eliminate the need for the cpap machine and also make sure that you keep the weight off.
Used 4 times...I know that you didn't lose that much weight in 4 nights so I assume you didn't use it much or had problems adjusting or whatever.
The absence of snoring doesn't always equal the absence of sleep apnea.
If you are hell bent on selling the machine despite not knowing for sure if you really have eliminated the OSA and you are absolutely sure you will never ever regain the weight...then that is your choice.
You likely won't find any potential buyers here at your current asking price.
The S9 Escape is a very decent machine but it offers no data that would be useful for any forum member here.
It would make a good back up machine though. Your current asking price is more than what we can buy a full data APAP machine for. In other words you are asking Cadillac prices for a basic economy model. Just thought I would give you a heads up if you wonder why no one just jumps at the deal.
Most of the forum members here will want a machine that offers more than hours of use unless they want a back up machine and if they do they will want a greatly reduced price.
I realize your DME probably billed your insurance company a lot more than that for the machine but that really doesn't matter here on the secondary market. Cold hard facts of life.
See this for product description and an idea what the Escape can be bought for new.

Re: Looking to sell a cpap machine
I dont need another sleep study done but thanks for caring, I'm 6'1 was 225 lbs & now 200 lbs & sleeping thru the night with no issues...Only did a sleep study at first for snoring & was waking up 3-4 times a night to pee...
I was told this is the cadalac of machines when it was deliverd to me by a nurse & it has a data card in it to take notes of your sleep along with a humidfier ...if I google shopping the machine the lowest I can find it used is $700.00
machine is still for sale....I am open to offers though....

Re: Looking to sell a cpap machine
The nurse that told you it was the Cadillac of the machines was telling you a big false hood and as far as data, hours of use is it. It would make a good backup machine but not at that price. Machines are like new cars, once you drive it off the lot the value goes down.

Re: Looking to sell a cpap machine
The ONLY notes it takes is how long you used the machine each night. How many hours it was used so that the DME can prove to the insurance company (if requested) that you are using it so they don't waster their money and/or make sure the DME gets paid.funkymann1 wrote:by a nurse & it has a data card in it to take notes of your sleep along with a humidfier
It is called compliance data in the specs. Sorry but the nurse either didn't know what she was talking about or she flat out lied to you.
Suit yourself on the follow up sleep study. Skinny people have OSA and not snore...but you don't want to believe that so I won't try to change your mind.
I wish you luck in recovering some of your costs. Secondwindcpap.com has a used S9 Escape for $400

I don't know about the other members here but if you cut your asking price in half you might get some interest.
I personally bought a slightly used S9 AutoSet for $250 and it is a full data machine along with being APAP.
So that gives you an idea of the market value for items here on this forum. Remember most of us already have a machine and would consider the Escape only as a back up machine. New members really need the added data that the upgraded models offer so that they can better evaluate their therapy.
In other words...we tend to be a bunch of tightwads looking for super good deals.
