concerned about test
Going to be sedated for an MRI, should i be concerned since i basicly will be sleeping without my CPAP? Without the cpap i tend to wake up gasping at times. Definitely need some help here.
Re: concerned about test
Have you asked the MRI crew about it? They can always respirate you if necessery.

you definitely need to discuss it with the doc that ordered it. sedation doesn't mean out cold. if that were the case an anesthesiologist would have to monitor you.
sedation usually means twilite sleep where you are drowsy but not asleep because you may have to respond to commands. you will think you were asleep. they generally give a little amnesic with it so you don't remember. thats why people don't remember being awake. think of it like the colonoscopy which is sedation with amnesic. or when you have the scope down the throat to check the esophagus and stomach. that is also done with sedation and amnesic where you must be awake enough to swallow the hose when they say to but you'll never know it or remember it. don't worry, you'll be fine.

Re: concerned about test
I agree with unclebill...most MRIs are under 30 minutes...I had one of my head that took about 45 minutes but I was not put under. Curious...why are you getting anesthesia for an MRI??
