hi everyone i was useing the nasal pillows but had to switch to full face mask cause i could not seem to stop breathing through mouth,i have ENCORE PRO AND MY ENCORE since i really dont know all the terms and what the results are SUPPOSED to be as compared to what they are but since i been on the full face mask my last results from the MY ENCORE here are the summarys for that night
Treatment mode: CPAP with C-Flex at 10.0 cm. H2O
Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI): 2.6 events/hr.
Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI): 10.5 events/hr.
Total Obstructive Apneas: 29
Total Hypopneas: 35
Total Snores: 1309
Total Time in Apnea: 582 sec.
Fraction of Night in Variable Breathing: 52.3%
Obstructive Apnea Index (OAI): 4.74
Hypopnea Index (HI): 5.72
Snore Index (SI): 214.0
Average Apnea Duration: 20.1 sec.
this by far the worst results since on full face mask, again i dont know what those results mean but i thought all those figures were to be lower to be better??should i go back to the pillows or should i give mask more time, should i stop useing the software and just not worry about any results the machine is remstar plus c-flex pro2 with humidifier, i was diagnosed with this 3 months ago so im still a NEWBE so try to be gentle about my ignorance about this disorder (L.O.L)

Freaking out
Don't fuss about the readouts - do you feel ok the next day after being on CPAP at night? That's what counts. If you don't feel good, then you need to find out whether the mask fits, whether your pressure's set correctly, etc. The numbers can make you crazy if you don't understand them (I'm about to learn soon) but if the machine is doing the job (you feel good) then don't worry about the software.

COMMENT: Which number is the current AHI? 2.6 is excellent. You want to have an AHI under 10, preferably under 5.Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI): 2.6 events/hr.
Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI): 10.5 events/hr.
You will have a few of these even on CPAP. Divide the total by the total hours recorded, and you get your AHI.Total Obstructive Apneas: 29
Total Hypopneas: 35
That is a LOT.Total Snores: 1309
Variable Breathing time includes REM sleep, awake time, and other restless time. Only you can know which this is likely to represent. If it is mostly REM sleep time, the number is high, and probably means you are catching up on REM sleep that you have missed in the past.Fraction of Night in Variable Breathing: 52.3%
Hope this helps, and maybe more experienced folks can add more insights.

AS long as you are looking at your numbers -what is your leak index average?
