Fisher and Paykel nasal mask. Which side up for the cushion?

Post by Breathing » Tue May 15, 2012 6:43 pm

I took the nasal mask apart to clean, and I think I put it back together wrong. Which way is "up" for the grey cushion? or more importantly, which side of the grey cushion goes against my face?

thanks.

I have sleep apnea, but I don't snore. Never have. (I am also not male, obese or hypertensive)
I believe the screening criteria for sleep apnea is missing a LOT of people, who have a lot of unnecessary OSA related disease.

If you go to https://www.cpap.com and look up your mask you should fine a section on replacement parts. Looking at the various pictures may give you an indication of how things go together.

Watch this video:

I would replace this mask with Resmed Mirage SoftGel nasal, or Activa, b/c they use a double layers of the the Silicone while all F & P masks do not and thus they produce lots of leaks.

Looking at my Zest mask, on the bottom, the foam cutout should make a rainbow shape.
