ResMed Swift FX

My husband was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. He bought his machine, and they gave him a mask. But he absolutely HATES the mask. It's the full face type. Before he started treatment we had moved to separate rooms to sleep because his snoring was so loud. He's now refusing to use it, and we've once again started sleeping by or selves.

So, I've convinced him to try another type of mask. Now, we have two problems with this. One, he threw away his copy of the prescription, thinking he would never need it again. So now we can't order online. The other problem, in order to get a new prescription, he would have to take a plane, which is quite expensive. We live in a VERY isolated village in Canada. St.Augustine is its name in case any one cares to look it up. He called his doctor, but he made excuses about how he needs to check the fit of a new mask. If you as me, it's just for more money.
Our insurance won't cover the cost of an extra trip.

So this is where I hope the community comes in. I'm looking for a ResMed Swift FX. If any one happens to have one sitting in their closet, I'm willing to pay through paypal.

We're going on vacation soon, and since we're staying with family, we'll only have one bed. I'm not looking forward to a very sleepless vacation.

How soon is the vacation?

The Swift FX can be purchased on EBay by buying the replacement parts and putting them together. You would also need to have at least 2 sizes of nasal pillows available to try.

I do have an extra Swift FX but it is the for Her model...and I don't have a medium or large nasal pillow (traded the medium for a small). The for Her model has smaller headgear but I imagine it would expand to fit male size head just like the regular model will adjust down to fit most female heads.

If EBay seller won't ship to Canada....I would be willing to be the go between or even purchase from EBay and then ship to you. I can get a medium nasal pillow easily from my DME..

I have found when I ship to Canada it takes a little over a week to go through customs and all.
Many sellers on EBay won't ship out of the country due to the extra paperwork.

If you want to try the Swift FX that I have...I can quickly get a Medium pillow or Large from DME. So no need to wait if time is a factor.

I also have a Swift LT for her mask set up. Not sure what pillow sizes I have for it.

Other than color....the difference is mainly in the size of the headgear with the for Her sizing being about an inch smaller but since velcro is used...easily to adjust upwards.

Let me go check out EBay.. 3 items are needed...Headgear, short hose assembly and the nasal pillow. The Swift FX also has the Bella loop option (see my profile for link) if you think he might want that option. There is no reason a man can't use it.

Most men will need either a medium or large nasal pillow.

These buy it now prices are fair. I sometimes have seen a little better deals but not a whole lot better.

You can contact the Groupe Biron. I think they will ship it without a prescription.
