Hose Insulation

Post by Lee Lee » Tue Feb 28, 2006 10:23 am

I am thinking about getting the Aussie Heated Hose..but before I do..
I am having some rainout since I keep my bedroom temperature set on "Antartica." It's not terrible, but very annoying.
I have an insulated hose cover, but it doesnt cover the entire length of my hose. It also doens't seem very thick.
Has anyone got a recommendation for a a good hose cover?
How about the Snuggle hose cever?
Thank you, Brilliant People.
Lee Ann

You can make a very good, thick, hose cover with "quilt batting" from Walmart or a material store. Then you can make a sleeve out of regular material to go around the thick batting. I did that with my first hose and used it for 3 years - I never had rainout or any moisture droplets.

The Aussie Heated Hose does come with its own cover. The cover is not the nice color that you can get from Snuggle. I believe I read a post from Linda that she bought a Snuggle and also put it on the heated hose to provide even more insulation. Just be sure to use a plastic baggie or other slippery plastic to allow the Snuggle to easily slip on. It is almost impossible to put it on without using a slippery piece of plastic.
