Pad-A-Cheek mask liner at 16 cm/H20

Post by Paul Van Dyk » Thu Nov 24, 2011 2:14 am

Should I order this for my new Quattro or are higher pressures (I'm at 16) not conducive for its effectiveness?

I think a padacheek liner will be very helpful in terms of comfort for your quattro. I dont think the comfort afforded by the pac liner will compromise your therapy at higher pressures.

So is the Pad-A-Cheek mask liner's purpose to add comfort or to create a better seal? I'm confused.

I think the purpose for any kind of liner is both. It's obviously more comfortable having soft material against your face as apposed to silicone. As far as helping leaks, if you sweat and as your skin gets oily during the night, the initial good seal can be lost and the liner helps negate this.

An added bonus; I think I heard about some folks having longer cushion life with a liner.
We do know that a few find immense relief from skin irritations.
(they say silicone is non-allergenic--but that apparently does not apply to EVERYONE)

PAC also has an 'anti-leak' strap that helps hold the mask against your face more evenly. I use it and it works to prevent leaks. Good combination with the liner.
Thinking of quitting CPAP?

No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

My pressure goes up to 15 and the Padacheek liner is both comfortable and allows a good seal without cranking down on the straps.

Just be VERY careful if you get one and have to cut the hole larger. I cut mine to where it needed to be, not thinking it would stretch. Now it's too large. I can think of better ways to burn 15 bucks, but oh well.

Hello all,

If you have a mask liner that you have trimmed the hole and it became too large to use, please send it back to me with a note. I will replace it for you. I do not want you to pay for something that will not work for you. This CPAP therapy has its challenges and I certainly do not want PAD A CHEEK to add to the difficulties, but instead we want to solve issues. We will replace this cheerfully with a brand new mask liner.

Karen

For the liners, I buy T-shirt fabric from Joann's crafts and cut my own. I bet I can get 100+ from one yard of fabric which costs $6.99 a yard. Why throw away money. I used the RemZZZs which run about $25.00 for 30 or so and I could only get one night, maybe two out of each one because they stretch. Why throw away money?
