VENTING ABOUT DME

Had new supplies delivered today by a new (and competent) DME. When I was at follow up appt with sleep doc last week I shared about my poor service and they got on the phone and changed my DME immediately. I'd contacted the former one the end of Sept. for replacement mask and hose, and had to keep pestering them. Guess what arrived by UPS today (posted yesterday) from former DME --- 6 weeks after first contact. Sleep doc won't be referring anyone to that company anymore.

Hi, what is the return and mask exchange policies of your new DME compared to the former DME?

My products are all covered by Medicare and supplement. I'll just make sure the incompetent DME doesn't get paid, and that the new one does. When I called the sleep doc's office, the nurse said she'd call the DME, for she had a thing or two to say to them. I told her to give them the option to pick up the package (unopened), give me a UPS return authorization number, or..... maybe it will just sit here and eventually be mine, but I'll make sure it isn't charged, 'cause that would be insurance fraud. Our insurance rates are too high as it is.

I am also insured by Medicare and BCBS Supplementary. My DME charges my Medicare acount for supply, masks, etc. , at about 4 times the going prices on the Inernet.
And also charges in duplicates and triplicates.

In my opinion you should NOT pursue with the Fraud issue and by any means do not identify your DME and your Doc on discussion forums, blogs, etc. unless you are ready to pay thousands to attorneys if the DME(s) decide to sue you for slandering.
