mask leaking

Post by susanyp » Mon Oct 31, 2011 8:38 am

Is it common to have your mask leak when you change position during the night? I think I could get a good nights rest if it weren't for having to adjust my mask.

It is extremely common for any mask (especially full face mask) to leak when we change position.
Some people have more problems with movement than others but it is very common problem.

Have you read Janknitz's tips on how to fit the Quattro in hopes of minimizing leaks?
If not, here is link http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/taming ... e-quattro/

This is a great help and can't wait to try working on this tonight! It's also good to know that I'm not the only one w/leaks.

Where did I see Quattro at? You don't show it in your profile now. That is why I sent the link. Maybe I dreamed it.
So sorry, if you don't use the Quattro it won't help.

Have you considered nasal pillow type mask? They are the easiest to seal in my opinion simply because of minimal surface needing to be sealed. I do a pretty good amount of tossing and turning and rarely have any leaks of any significance with the nasal pillow mask. Right now I use the Swift FX for Her but also had good results with the Swift LT for Her. The Swift LT is probably a little more stable but I changed to the Swift FX when it was released simply because I wanted less "stuff" on my face.

Quattro tips work for the Mirage FX too--any mask with an air cushion.
