CPAP class update

Post by Pap365 » Sun Oct 23, 2011 5:17 pm

The CPAP class was very helpful. I was able to try on as many masks as I wanted while laying down in a bed with a CPAP machine set at my pressure. It turns out the DME did give me the wrong size mask. At the end of the “class” they asked me to choose a mask so they could tell my sleep doc which one I liked best. A few weeks later my chosen mask arrived at my door. I wish they would have told me they were going to arrange for a new mask. Immediately after my class I ordered a new mask from CPAP.com. Thankfully I ordered a different one from the one I chose at the sleep doc’s office. I’ve been playing with the Quattro FX ffm. But now I also have a Quatro Mirage. I had a few good nights with the FX but the last three nights I’ve been getting eye leaks. I’ve tried it with and w/o a padacheek mask liner with mixed results. I am going to play with different pillows to see if that helps. Anyone, especially newbies who are struggling, please ask if your sleep doc can arrange a CPAP class.

With the Mirage Quattro + padacheek liner (+ anti-leak strap, if possible) you can eliminate those eye leaks. I put the mask on with the forehead piece dialed all the way out to 24, and slowly tighten it until the leaks are gone.

Wow, a few weeks!!!! Wow, I went in for patient teaching and mask fitting and went home at the end of the meeting with everything. I can't imagine waiting a few weeks!! Did they give you a mask to take home to try while waiting for that mask to be mailed to you?
